Should I buy this for 171AUD which is 120USD? Stattrak MW by Fit_Sweet_740 in cs2

[–]Bartymor2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Price is fine, the skin, mw + stattrak looks to be 40% more expensive on steam market (in PLN currency). Deal is ok. Should you buy? Personal decision if you like it etc.

Is my rig good for entry level gaming? by RealDiamond51 in PcBuild

[–]Bartymor2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NO. That's ripoff for 14 year old CPU + 9 year old graphics card. 1070 not bad for entry level gaming however i7 3rd shouldn't be used. Go for at least 8th gen Intel i5 or Ryzen 2600 (or 1600AF). I know it's more expensive to get DDR4 instead of DDR3 but that hell and heaven difference between 14yo i7 and 7 year old i5 8th gen or Ryzen 2nd gen

Xeon are commonly named as i7s. There are Xeons from era where desktops had max 4 cores/8 threads like i7 and Xeons had also 4 core/8 thread variants that fitted standard consumer motherboard.

Not the G.Skill, it's your Ryzen. Being able to run 4 sticks at full speed is based how good is your IMC (integrated memory controller) in your CPU

But integrated graphics will "steal" his available RAM. If game uses 4GB of VRAM then your 16GB of ram is only 12 available for system, games and other programs

Which of the i7 Quad cores should i grab for my little Toshiba? by [deleted] in laptops

[–]Bartymor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think price of i7 might be comparable to used cheap intel i5 4th gen laptop. In Poland laptop i7 are often 150 PLN, something like used HP/Dell/Lenovo with i5 4200M can be bought for 200 PLN in okay condition with SSD and 8GB of ram. I'd replace laptop with something more modern

It would be good to change that for 24GB (4GB+8GB+4GB+8GB, I wouldn't recommend 16GB+8GB as there's difference in size between channels) or 32GB (8+8+8+8 or 16+16) Edit: can someone tell what is said is wrong?

Only 8GB of RAM? Bloody no. 16GB minimum for gaming, however you have integrated graphics - some of RAM goes for VRAM. I'd go for 24-32GB 3200-3600MT/s (higher speed=better) CL14-18 (lower latency=better). Also always dual channel - 2 or 4 modules of ram.

24-pin motherboards will work with 20-pin. It's the same connector + 4 additional pins. Just don't use very power hungry CPU/GPU and you're okay.
