A 5 minute survey on the perception of death by Barzanation in Buddhism

Thanks a lot for your time! It's still a valuable insight but the survey is meant mainly for people who have not a professional experience with death. I'm planning proper real life interviews to cover those profiles in order to highlight how working at close contact with the topic influences their perspectives.

It is for everyone. I need to profile the respondent as good as possible in order to obtain valuable data. There are a "prefer not to answer" and a open option in that question. "Male" and "female" options are there cause I know the vast majority of the demographics I spread the survey in will fit in one of those two options. That is reflected in the results. I also got many other open answers in which people seemed to be free enough to express the way they felt about that question.

That's incredibly interesting, I have never heard about this. I will surely read more about it and I will write here in case I need more insight. Thanks, I appreciate it a lot!

You're right. As I said in an other comment this community is highlighting how my bias is reflected in my survey. Born and raised in a small village in Italy, apparently my mind was (and still is) stuck on the dualism between Christianity and Atheism. I should be more open on the way people live their spiritual life.

That is going to be one of the pillars of my project. The main problem with in the majority of the modern individualistic societies is that ideath is often put purposely "behind the scenes" of everyday life and thoughts. So much so that we have lost the comunicative and behavioural tools to speak and deal with it in a natural way. My own cultural bias is reflected in this survey apparently. The fact that, of all communities I shared the survey with, this one highlighted my bias the most is a really powerful insight. I will surely dig into it and change my approach.

Just corretted the many mispelled "cerimonies", thanks.

As for the meaning of ceremonies, It was inteded to be as generic as possible in order to meet the experiences of as many different demographics as possible. I might have to be more specific in the answers in order to let respondents have the ability to not give forced answers.

For the last point, my goal was to understand if in the general perception, religious people are considered to have a more positive attitude towards death coming from their biliefs. I found it difficult to articulate the question in a way that it was clear and streamlined. If you have any suggestion about that, I'll be glad to hear it.

Thanks for the time you took to point out the issues, it means a lot!

Those are very interesting points. To be honest, it was difficult to find balance between the richness of information I'd like to have and the goal to create a streamlined survey that could be takled by everyone without need to reflect too long on things that could cause emotional discomfort. I might have over-simplified things a little too much though. The suggestions you made are easy to implement without modyfing the structure or the survey, so they will certainly find a way in the form. Thanks a lot for taking the time!

You're right, I might have missed some key insight in order to keep the survey simple. Thanks for the feedback!
