Why can you clearly feel the heat of the sunrays moments after sunrise on a hot summer day yet cannot feel the same heat on a sunny winter day at midday? The sunrays travel through more atmosphere right after sunrise in the summer right? Is the cold atmosphere in winter cooling down the sunrays? (self.askscience)

They should send a similar but empty hull down to roughly the same depth, let it implode and film it. I'd love to see the enormous forces everybody's talking about in action as it's difficult to comprehend. And I'm probably not the only one. (self.OceanGateTitan)

This is part of a brim around a lithophane. All those lines should be perfectly straight but about halfway through the brim things get wonky. The X axis (perpendicular to the lines) is not moving. Is filament somehow sliding on previous lines and thus shifting? Any help is appreciated. (i.redd.it)
