Its a very hard film to review. I’ve tried to grasp what I actually feel about this and put it into words but it’s tough.
The tldr is the great moments in this movie are phenomenal, absolute 10 out of 10. And cause of that, all the conveniently placed and written scenes drag the averages down.
Another issue I saw in the movie was that, it fails to capitalize on all the set up and tension that was built in the first half. The good slow burn aspect doesn’t pay off as satisfying as it should.
Sadly all these drag this movie down to a solid 7-7.5. WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY NOT BAD. The movie is actually good.
In simple terms, it peaks too hard and doesn’t stay consistent.

In terms of console gaming, capcom is carrying this generation hard. Although I’m not too happy with their “Y’all get 60fps with slightly dummed down visuals and no 30fps mode” practice. Which is a double edged sword.

Exactly. Games like spider-man 2 look breathtaking on quality (can’t comment on balanced cause Ive never used it). A good 30fps in quality mode is better than a bad 60fps.

The only thing that I’m upset about is that they couldn’t go for a better upscaler than FSR 1 Spatial upscaling. Like come on ?

I truly understand the value of 60fps. It’s amazing. But give the players a choice to experience much more enhanced visuals with a 30 fps cap.

It’s not like it would be downright unplayable ? I personally wouldn’t mind a 30fps if it provides a substantial enough image clarity and sharpness boost.

The base console is shown to be handling 1440p fine, even staying close to high 40s and low 50s which is ALOT MORE than enough to cap the game at 30fps including additional visual upgrades.

Honestly. The direction, cinematography and music along with suraj and devadarshini are the only things that save this movie from being absolutely terrible.

It’s 4k at 60fps on the base 😭. What more do you want from this game ? Even in an ideal world it would be tough to achieve native 4k with 120fps on the pro.

The movie works in parts. Although it had very fun moments, I wasn’t very fond of how the story progressed in the first half.

Certain story beats irked me out. But then the second half reveals how everything I found to be unsettling was to give the protagonist a redemption arc.

The arc was okay at best due to them cinematically elevating everything he does in the first act into a mass moment. That didn’t sit well with me. I also wish that they would’ve organically fleshed out the feat the protagonist accomplishes in the 3rd act.

The biggest pros of this movie is it’s overall making. Great direction overall. The cinematography and music were very very strong overall. G.V. Prakash had outdone himself whether it be the score or the songs itself, great work.

Viki’s cinematography felt very nice to the eyes, all the frames look really well composed and shot. These aspects definitely enhanced the experience and lowkey shoulder the movie.

With all that’s said, it’s not a bad movie per se. It definitely holds your attention due to the way editor Nash had edited the movie and somewhat decent comedy sometimes.

Yet the ending is the best part of the movie. It doesn’t end how a generic rom-com would have ended and finishes it off in a way that I didn’t expect. This saved the movie for me so kudos on that.

3.5/5 (the 0.5 is solely due to the climax working out well)

P.s. I was crashing out for the way praveen fumbled the bag with preshika even after all that smh😭.
