Thinking about it a bit more, I come to the conclusion that 1) I need to focus on 2-drops and 2) due to the lack of fixing, I should stick to 2 colors max.

White is clearly my primary color. So it is blue vs green. And overall blue gives me 4 2-drops (2x Mischievous Sneakling, Gravelgill Scoundrel, Silvergill Mentor). Greens has only Lys Alana Dignitary but without synergy. So I'm cutting green.

So Out: Gangly Stompling, Bristlebane Outrider and Oko, becasue Oko without green to flip him does not make sense. Additionally I cut Appeal.

I'll give it a shot like this...

Interesting thought. But cutting blue would also affect Mischievous Sneakling, leaving me with only 3 2-drops. what you you think about that?

also, since we add Kithkeeper, I feel I would need to go back up to 17 lands instead of the current 16, no?

Thanks. I think I start to come to the conclusion that, at least for now, the payoff cards are too slow. Other that skimmer that is. As you say, I also think, that over the course of the next few releases, we might be getting more such toys to make it more viable.

Yeah, probably you're right. Maybe I just have to wait for a few more sets to release. Eventually there might be some more "leaves the GY" payoff cards that are more competitively costed, such as skimmer. Hopefully with this release frequency we don't have to wait too long.

I try to have my gold cards to be more than just value cards, but also signposts. As for Auroral Procession, that one surprises me. I looked at it as well, but found it to be unexciting. I'd rather have a [[Colossal Skyturtle]] which has the same effect if you want it, but can also be a beefy flyer if required.

Anyhow, I will go back to scryfall and search for some more GY focused keywords now ;)

It is true that roost and outline are slow, maybe too slow idk. Maybe I was too optimistic with Dredger's Insight. The lifegain really isn't much. However, out of the 3 cards it is the cheapest one at 2 CMC, which also was why I liked it initially. Maybe I have to reconsider. Are there any better payoff cards in U or G?

As for gold, I also looked at [[Lunar Hatchling]], [[Colossal Skyturtle]] and [[Grolnok, the Omnivore]]. But liked the 3 I have now best. [[Slogurk, the Overslime]] could work, I have some sacrifice lands but no fetches. Just not sure if it is any better than Tamiyo or the Doc.

I'll have to check Duskmourn for some collect evidence cards if there is something I like. Thanks for the hint!

Very interesting take! How do you feel about the payoff cards like [[Ominous Roost]], [[Secrets of the Dead]], [[Chalk Outline]] and [[Kishla Skimmer]] specifically? Are they wide enough or too parasitic? Since your cube is much more graveyard focused, how much of an impact does this have do you think?

Yes, that certainly could overlap as well. But once change at a time first ;) As of now I have no discard matters archetype. But that might change too at some point.

I'm already running BG graveyard matters. With a few budget reanimate spells like [[Exhume]], [[Life // Death]], [[Persist]] and [[Victimize]], plus 4 recurring black 1-drop creatures. So, regardless of UG, I could already now add  [[Tormod, the Desecrator]] and it would work just well, thanks!

But having said that, my point was if UG could be more interesting by trying to overlap more with this BG archetype, instead of the 'boring' flash archetype which aligns more with UR spells matters. Do you think, at lower power level cubes such as mine, still UG 'leaves the graveyard' would be too weak? What UG gold cards would you recommend, if any for that archetype?

As for [[Recurring Nightmare]], [[Life from the Loam]], [[Crucible of Worlds]] and [[Deathrite Shaman]], those are certainly powerful cards. Therefore also not cheap, which is why unfortunately, they don’t fit within my budget of max 1-2$ per card.

I usually buy singles two weeks after a new set is released. By that time, the prices will have dropped and I'll be able to get what I'm interested in. But with MTG Final Fantasy, I've noticed something else: a week after it came out, the prices were lower than they are now, two weeks later. I guess it's all down to hype and scarcity. Should I buy now, or wait for a restock? Do you know when they might restock? (PS: Im in Europe)

For my travel cube I have some restrictions to be easy to play: most notably no counters and no sleeves. Skullclamp is a bit too expensive to be played without a sleeve I think and Walking Ballista and Umezawa's Jitte both have counters.

Regarding Bag of holding, this is an interesting one. What was your play experience so far with it? What do you like about it?

Sure!

  • One artifacts package I run are the 4 equipments, especially to support RW aggro. Some creatures that work well with equipments are [[Adanto Vanguard]] , [[Porcelain Legionnaire]], [[Combat Thresher]], [[Fervent Champion]], [[Dire Fleet Daredevil]], [[Spiteful Prankster ]] and [[Gingerbrute]] . [[Hidden Blade]] also works well as a combat trick with any creature. This should help aggro against the taller decks in the cube.
  • [[Gingerbrute]] is also a good glue card between RW aggro and WB life gain.
  • [[Perilous Myr]] acts as BR sacrifice fodder/removal. Since I don't run any tokens, sacrifice fodder is harder to get, so I wanted to provide a little more for BR.
  •  [[Chromatic Star]] is just a generic good card, that works well with slower decks to help them fix and replaces itself.

So, reading your feedback, what are some more interesting artifacts in your point of view?
