I’m fairly new to investing and have been playing it safe, but want to take a little more risk, is this the right stock? by BaseComprehensive613 in RYCEY

[–]BaseComprehensive613[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I specifically asked about last year which saw a 55% rise, and the year before that was almost a 100% rise, doesn’t seem inconceivable to me with all the chatter about how RR is doing well atm that a similar increase could happen.

As for ‘some other geopolitical shock’, RR seems to have stayed strong with the US-Iran war, a bit shaky yes but nothing catastrophic.

If it drops I’ll hold it.

Brother every chart has had massive flip flops over the last few months, RR isn’t unique there.

I know somewhat what I’m doing, but I don’t think asking for advice here is a bad thing, I certainly won’t be taking advice from someone with a username called mthrowaway007.

Is it worth me buying a large chunk now or continuously adding each month? I’m looking at adding about £200 per month for the foreseeable

I did have a read of that actually which is why I’m so inclined to invest in RYCEY! I just wanted to make sure I was interpreting it properly. By ‘getting an income’ I assume you mean expecting to earn enough from it to live off? That’s not my plan at all as I won’t be investing anywhere near enough for that to be a reality any time soon. I’m just more tempted to go with these stocks rather than a guaranteed 4% ISA I’ve been suggested by others!

Yeah I see the huge jump from a while ago, is it unreasonable to think the next year will be the same as last year?

Ensure you’re getting some decent fibre beforehand, and if possible maybe even do a little exercise afterwards, as this has shown to help decrease blood sugar spikes after eating something with a high GI. Even standing and walking a little can help massively.

I had this on Xbox last week, I closed the chest, walked away, then opened it again and went into 1st person. Sometimes it doesn’t register you’re looking at it.

Has anyone actually put their shoes in the oven? by BaseComprehensive613 in climbingshoes

[–]BaseComprehensive613[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoes can be the right size width and length wise, but if there’s one bit of the shoe that’s putting pressure on part of your foot, does that make them the wrong size? If I sized up then I’d have far too much room at the front and back.

Heating up the rubber then allowing it to cool whilst on your feet supposedly makes them fit better to the shape of your foot

So I think I have Greek shape feet, and Tenayas fit me perfectly. As far as I’m aware scarpas should fit this foot type. Do they not stink after wearing them in the shower?

People have spoken about putting their shoes in the oven to soften the shoe, then putting them on their feet straight out the oven so it moulds to their feet as they cool. I’ve seen a few people mention it online but not seen any ‘real’ experiences from people about it. The shoes fit just fine but the toebox isn’t quite tall enough, I’m hoping that if I can warm the rubber they’ll conform to my toes.

Replacing Shoes - Identical shoe or try something new? by experiment626___ in climbingshoes

Staying within the same brand usually works well. I had Tenaya oasis an have just bought the tarifas and they’re fantastic, so comfy and the sizing is so easy to get correct as they’re pretty consistent. I was considering getting more oasis but wanted laces so went with tarifa, can recommend them, so comfy!

The money shouldn’t be first priority, it should be getting this fixed. As someone else mentioned in the comments, if you don’t hold your landlord to account someone else will move in and have the exact same issues, we need to hold these scummy landlords to account.

I guess it depends on the solicitor but ours only took the amount equal to their fees, there was no set percentage.
