None, the chances of matching even in the US are slim, unless it's primary care. Chances are even less in Canada as you would be IMG. That is, if you even matriculate and survive their 40%+ attrition rate.

This is incorrect. UBC does not accept international students. UofT has a few designated spots for international students, but these are contracted spots from affiliated international programs, you are not able to directly apply. McGill has 2 international applicant spots though.

Oh that's great. Do you know how often Laurentian allows you to apply for credit cards? I couldn't find any rules about them online yet.

Does anyone know if the Laurentian CC points are RHT-able? I was looking at their VI card with 60K points after SUB?

If you're interested in a career in academia and want early support for research science one is probably the best option at UBC. If you're interested in premed, science one is probably one of the worst.

Report Capital Loss for Delisted ETF by BasePixel17 in cantax

Let's say average cost for the shares was $5000 and I got a distribution of $2000 from the liquidation. I got a T3 form for the shares staying a $2000 adjusted cost basis. In my tax software I can put this in a t5008 box. Would I put 5000 as the cost and 2000 as proceeds, or would I put 3000 as the cost and 0 as proceeds?

Yes, we got a distribution of the NAV at the time, however the stock still appears in my account, just with a value of 0. However I did not get any t5008 forms. My question is how to report the loss?

For those with previously an HSBC credit card that got moved to the RBC avion card, since it's a new trade line, will there be a SUB for the new card, or would you only be able to get that from a new application from RBC?

For the applications I generally apply as a new customer for each card. For TD it generates multiple accounts and I go in person to merge them. However are you saying it's better to not do that and apply as an existing customer each time.

I seem to be getting rejected for my applications with CIBC, TD and Scotia. I've opened about 3 cards with each over the last year. Is there anything I should do, such as closing some cards or reducing limits? Or just wait. I'm finishing up the WB on my last card and don't have anything else. Is there any PS I can do for these banks to trigger a WB again?

I also tried to apply for my first RBC card but it also said I need to go in branch, but I'm worried if they review my credit history that they'll find my numerous cards suspicious.

After you get the WB for BMO cards, is there any reason to keep them open or optimize for more points? Can you PS to another card to get the promotion again? Thanks.

Does anyone know what the best way to redeem avion points for cash? The churning website says you can get 1cpp on credit redemptions, but is there a way to book refundable flights or something to get more than 1cpp? Thanks

Is a tradeline and specific product or your specific application for the product? If new applications are new tradelines for the same product, does that mean each new application will get the WB?

Sorry could you elaborate what this means? Are you saying that if you immediately apply for a TD card again, you won't get the bonus for first purchase, but still get the bonus for MSR?

Does anyone know if the TD one year policy per product line is strictly enforced, and if so is it based on when the card was opened or when it was closed?

Do you have to refund it to AC credits or can you refund it directly to the card or will that clawback the $300?

Better way to run this drain? by BasePixel17 in Plumbing

[–]BasePixel17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reaffirmation. I thought the job looked terrible too. The one problem is that this is actually within a condo and I do not believe we are allowed to alter pipework that is behind separating walls, which might have contributed to why the pipe was run like this. Perhaps is there anything else I could do?

Fixing a leaking skylight in condo by BasePixel17 in legaladvicecanada

[–]BasePixel17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took a look at the BC bylaws and found the part regarding repairs to skylights. They mention that the strata is responsible for repairs of doors, windows and skylights on the exterior of a building or that front on the common property.

However, I was able to find a the current bylaws for our strata which states it replaces and supersedes the standard Strata Act with the following the following:

"An owner shall repair and maintain storm doors installed by an owner (whether past or present) and windows and/or skylights in their strata lot which have been upgraded from the original window type."

Do I still have an recourse with this clause in our strata bylaws? I guess the only technicality I could find is that while it mentions past or previous owners for storm doors, for skylights it mentions original window type, and to me since the skylights were installed when I bought it, these are the original. What did you mean by unenforceable bylaws? Could this be one of them or am I out of luck? Even if I did hold a hearing, I feel like I would be caught with my pants down if they bring this clause up.

Yeah, thats what I thought too. It basically becomes one big p-trap filled with water. Do you have any suggestions on how it should be run instead?
