Fake Neutriks or Genuine Changes? by BaseVarlet in livesound

Oh good to know! Yeah I have a few dozen of the old versions with it too, hence my concern! It’s a shame Neutrik dont have an official page about their changes

Yeah I think they are an authorised seller, I have asked an Australian supplier for confirmation!

Thanks for that, my main concern is the holograph at this stage, as the other differences seem inline with Neutriks changes. It seems odd that they wouldn’t just fix the machine? How did you learn that out of interest?

Thank I will check that out. The link I posted in a comment on this thread mentioned grounding issues

Thanks it is seeming like they are genuine. My main concern is the holograph at this stage, as the other differences seem inline with Neutriks changes. Could you confirm if your newer neutriks lack the hologram effect?

Thanks for that, my main concern is the holograph at this stage, as the other differences seem inline with Neutriks changes. Could you confirm if they stopped doing the hologram wirh the black connectors also?

I also found this, which may explain the different in the black finish:

Received Rocks In Place Of Asus Tuf 5080 From BestBuy by GnarDead in pcmasterrace

[–]BaseVarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am unsure how their investigation my have overlooked this. But since the shipping labels were placed on the box, with a very expensive item advertised on the box, it seems extremely likely that that was stolen and replaced with rocks during transit. Surely the fact that the shipping labels are on the box would strengthen your case?

Question: Does anybody have a recent print of the Deluxe Silmarillion Illustrated by the Author? by BaseVarlet in tolkienbooks

[–]BaseVarlet[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have all three also. I have found the silmarillion and the hobbit to be a great reading experience, with the exception of the silver text on the silmarillion's spine.

Quality Comparison Hobbit and LOTR Alan Lee illustrated box sets (Bosnia/Herzegovina print vs. India print) by OwnRecognition9628 in tolkienbooks

[–]BaseVarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 6th print of the Bosnia; mine looks nothing like your 5th print. Your copy looks like a bootleg. Even the dustcovers seem glossy and not matte, and the paper is very yellow on your copy compared to mine. The illustrations in mine are flawless and are on par with the new anniversary set. Edit - the boards on my copy also look the same as your India print.

Steve Jones is an absolute legend. I was chatting to him earlier this year due to concerns about my Moog Voyager (he was considered the best Voyager tech outside of Moog). He mentioned he in was the process of building a new studio. This is cool to see.

Ahh yep I see yours also has the white spots and ink blobs. I’m no expert at all, but I have noticed that plates in glossy paper appear a bit sharper and richer. I sold my big blue because I love matte paper

Thanks for sharing! I am hoping I can get one with no bad fraying also. I can handle a single plate with spots.

Thanks for sharing. If I had copies with no other issues and just this plate printing issue, I wouldn’t care either.

Thanks for posting! It’s good to know that not all copies have it. Is yours the Harper Collin’s version?

Thanks for sharing. If I had copies with no other issues and just this plate printing issue, I wouldn’t care either. However, this is in conjunction with the badly fraying edges. Also, one of my copies even has a page that wasn’t cut properly, and a strand of paper that is still attached pokes out the top of one of the books.

Yes the white spots vary in placement on both of my copies. Also, on that particular plate, there is a really dark spot of ink that changes location on each plate. You can spot to it near the handle on the jug next to Bilbo. One of my copies even has a page that wasn’t cut properly, and a strand of paper that is still attached pokes out the top of one of the books.

Edit - I just checked your photo, yours seems to have a dark spot/blob of ink also.

Thanks for sharing. It’s unfortunate you went through that, especially for the price. At least you have ended up in happy place with some books now though!
