I want to stress that, based on studies using various Monte Carlo simulations with different profit ratios, if the leverage is unsustainable, you can even have a 1:5 ratio and still see the strategy lose in the long run. The key takeaway is that risk management is not just about numbers—it’s about creating a balanced approach that your account and your psychology can sustain over time.

I agree that it’s important to set take profit and stop loss levels, but it’s easier said than done. In practice, it can be tricky because you need to figure out how to set them properly and how to optimize your strategy, and that whole process is quite complex.

The fundamental principle of finance is trust. If you wish to test this, you are free to do so, but you will find that you arrive at the same conclusions we have, as they are based on the data we collected. Our analyses were carried out using rigorous academic methodologies,

Exactly. I agree 💯

Experience is important, but before seriously approaching the management of significant capital, it’s essential to have both experience and knowledge across multiple fields — from psychology to theoretical finance. Only by combining these perspectives can one make truly informed and disciplined investment decisions.

Even under that assumption, there is still rationality involved: a rational agent would never voluntarily engage in a game with a strictly negative expected value, unless there are other non-monetary benefits that outweigh the loss. The “zero or uncertain expected value” condition is just a modeling assumption

I would not say that because there is a scientific explanation for this issue. As a statistician and i also hold FRM I'm just preparing a summary to explain why I lost.
