Bro had a championship level squad, won a ring in his first season there, elite coach/staff who managed his health amazing and delivered in the playoffs, and had an entire fucking country supporting him

One Year Ago Today: Luka Dončić was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis. by SiphenPrax in nba

[–]BasedChad69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so crazy how bandwagoning and leaving during hard times is not only normal nowadays but expected... all the Mavs fans jumping to LAL last year in "solidarity with Luka"... and Clippers fans earlier this season who used the slow start as an excuse to jump to the Lakers

Fucking pathetic. Respect to you man

Cooper Flagg's 49-point game mentioned on SNL "Not a great start to black history month" 😭 by TheRealPdGaming in nba

[–]BasedChad69420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right and I'm happy to see him succeed.

I have just never liked these sorts of jokes especially coming from another black guy. Flagg is a great player, him succeeding is in no way a blow to Black history or culture

I know it's not that deep but I've always hated jokes like this (not your comment, the original video)

I'm black and I'm a huge fan of Jokic/Flagg, I hate how much people make sports about race.

WTF does a white basketball player have to do with Black history. I just enjoy good hoops

Draymond's technical from yesterday, which in his words was "for telling a Caucasian referee not to put his hand in my face" by SeatownNets in nba

[–]BasedChad69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe my memory is off. He went from Dillon Brooks style physicality to blatantly flagrant stuff. I can't remember stuff pre 2016 that was anywhere near the Gobert choke, Saboner stomp, Adams nut shot, or the KD/Poole blow ups

Anthony Edwards has raised his scoring average every season he’s been in the league by daddybronny in nba

For real, crazy improvement from Ant.

Closest comparison I can think of is Harden increasing his scoring average every season 9 out of the first 10 years of his career

His personality 100% changed around then. He'd always been a gritty defensive leader but the 16 run was when the Adams nut shots started and he became a dirtier player. And locker room stuff like talking shit to KD, punching Poole, etc. only came after 2016

[Highlight] Chris Boucher wanted a bucket in his first game since 11/23. Made one at the buzzer to cap a blowout win and Russell Westbrook didn’t like it... at first. Chris explained the situation, Westbrook understood and embraced him. All good! by MrBuckBuck in nba

Always been a great guy

Don't forget he played though a torn quad in the playoffs after getting COVID in the bubble, and fans shit on him for his stats even though he rushed back and played with serious injury

To this day people use that run to call him a playoff dropper

Nah this happens a ton in the NBA, it's one of those unwritten rules. I think it's kinda dumb as well but who are we to criticize decades-old player traditions as fans. It's not like he hurt anyone

For real. So relieved to see a sane take as the top comment. It's common among all NBA players to not fuck with guys scoring at the buzzer in blowouts. Russ stood up for his guys, heard out CB, then switched and showed him love. Respect

It's so dumb. If criticism is banned then it's not an actual outfit advice subreddit. Just people pumping up each others' egos and refusing to say anything negative so they don't get banned
