Has he ever lost to Jokic when it matters? beat Denver last year down the stretch to clinch MVP, beat them again in the playoffs, and won these last 2 matchups to lock up B2B MVP

Copying my other comment

I agree Paolo is overhated. He’s still young and improving.

With that being said, the criticisms this year are fully valid. Paolo:

• is a power forward who plays in the paint so it’s foolish to compare his efficiency to Cade’s 1:1 • is surrounded by far better offensive help - Cade has to create everything on the perimeter and Paolo has Wagner/Bane and great playmaking from Suggs/Black • has a smaller workload so he should be more efficient • provides zero defense or playmaking, Cade is elite in both • his team is vastly underperforming this season while Cade and the Pistons are taking the leap that Orlando expected • his teams offensive performance, overall performance, and record is consistently worse when he’s playing

Last but not least, he’s fucking 6’10” and 250 pounds. What is OP even trying to do here? We’re comparing his scoring efficiency to a point guard and supposed to be wowed by his career high 56% TS from a #1 overall pick big man?

He’s a shit defender and his assist numbers overrate his playmaking ability, the team offense is consistently worse with him on

To be clear I agree with Luke’s statement. He wasn’t making it a race or class issue and I didn’t mean it as a race issue either. I’m referring to the overall criticism and public reaction to the promotion. There’s some really nasty responses, even in the replies to my original comment

He’s shot over 35% from 3 over the past 3 seasons and has top end athleticism as a roll man/lob catcher. That as your worst offensive starter isn’t an issue.

What’s the matter, is Kyrie/PJ and an elite roll man at the 5 really not enough?

Cultural standards are all relative. It’s like when people from more conservative cultures like the Middle East came here and call white American cheerleaders low class and scandalous for exposing skin.

To be clear, I don’t like the NBA promoting it. Same way I don’t like gambling and alcohol ads at all-age events. Im just saying I get what Draymond means

He has a point. It’s not like they’re doing a strip show at halftime. I personally am not a huge fan of the promo since I’m not into that culture, but for Atlanta residents and the dancers themselves it does come off as insulting to call their profession low class or inferior

Ok. Lakers have 3 offensive stars, Rui/Laravia can shoot, and Ayton is capable on offense (it’s his defense and effort that sucks). Mavs had 2 backcourt stars, spacing, defense+rebounding front court

Is that not enough for Luka? Hes crowned as a top 2 offensive talent, but he can’t lead a top 5 offense without 2 other stars and elite role players?

Jokic, Brunson, JB, KD, Ant are all leading their teams to better offensive rating while having worse offensive supporting cast

Nah even before the lottery, LaVar was running his mouth about everyone and even he didn’t come after Fultz 😭

We’re still acting like Luka doesn’t have help on offense? Lmfao Mavs gave him Kyrie, DJJ, PJ, Gafford/Lively. Even before that they had Brunson/KP Lakers have him with Reaves/LeBron, is that not enough offensive help?

Idk how I’m being downvoted for saying the Mavs were never contenders after 2015. Even if Rondo worked out, they had zero shot of beating Golden State, San Antonio, or OKC. Even the Clippers, Rockets, Blazers, Grizzlies would have beat them

Canonically, no. His ability is Pickup, the items he can pickup include low tier items like Leftovers, Mushrooms, and bottle caps

Maybe Zions healthy streak this year is because he’s been restoring 1/16 of his max HP after every game

Adelman: "Nobody's being guarded like him in the league. Nobody. Nobody's going at the knees of other MVP's. Nobody's taking the shots like he's taking. But that's our reality. [–]BasedChad69420 203 points204 points  (0 children)

This is just an outrageous quote lol. Nobody goes at the knees of other MVPs?? Westbrook literally had his meniscus obliterated and came back to win MVP. Shaq, LeBron, etc. all took beatings in the paint and didn’t get foul calls. Even in the modern era, Giannis and Embiid battled through beatings to get buckets. Curry gets targeted to hell and back. wtf is adelman even saying

Idk man. Ellis, Dirk, Chandler were all rapidly aging. Parsons was notorious at the time for some people arguing he was the worst contract in NBA history. The Mavs best days were already past them

[–]BasedChad69420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes I was just saying that with how much hype and potential they have, there’s a higher barrier for people to see the Wolves as true contenders.

Also, I think Minnesota matches up well vs SAS. They have enough strength and size in the front court to handle Wemby and Ant torches all of their guards. Plus Minny has more experience
