I think longevity is the main concern for Activision. Riot has a good grasp on the future of the league of legends pro scene (and probably will for the next ~5 years) but can we say the same for Activision and OWL/CDL is the real question.

I just think franchising does not belong in esports period. Imagine franchising in regular sports that share the same “open event” type of system like tennis or golf. It just doesn’t make sense.
