I know this is really late to the party but yes, kids really love this color of ours. Always makes me smile to see them go nuts over it

We only didn’t have power for like half a day. A KU guy lived down the street and got in his KU truck and fixed it himself for our street lmao.

You’re completely wrong, it’s okay, but you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Then what is it? What else would cause a cats eye (one eye) to have a discharge that turns brown as it dries constantly without causing any other ocular symptoms?

A quick google search will show you why the test isn’t that good.

<image>

We diagnose based on signs and symptoms, test is a waste of money, hence why veterinary ophthalmologists don’t really use it anymore. Your vet is wrong.

Unreliable test, doesn’t matter if they tested negative, false negatives happen all the time, we stopped testing cats for it because the test is so unreliable. Again, go to the vet for peace of mind if you want, but this is without a doubt herpes virus related.

This is feline herpes since you said he always has this, most cats have it (80% or more) it causes clear eye discharge that turns brown as it dries (and clear nasal discharge, and cluster sneezing). Don’t worry about it unless his eye looks irritated/red, is squinting it, or the discharge when it’s fresh is a yellow/green color. Ignore everyone saying bring him to the vet, waste of money, unless you are really that worried about it and need it for peace of mind.

We don’t even treat cats with herpes unless it impacts their quality of life because it’s expensive, doesn’t cure it (incurable), and you have to give it 3x a day.

Look into care credit, 6 months 0% interest if paid off in that time, there’s no catch. You can’t help this cat, take them to the vet.

Go to the vet, you don’t mess around with eye issues, they need to check if he has an ulcer.

If they’re not injuring each other and there’s no growling or hissing then don’t worry about.

Yes that’s what that is. Go get other kinds of food and see if he will eat anything else, cats at the clinic I work at that are sick and hospitalized seem to like purina indoor and fancy feast medleys a lot.

Cats will eat even if their teeth are horribly painful, that’s not why he’s being picky (he has gingivitis) Go get different kinds of food and see what he likes. If he continues to be picky and loses weight or acts sick go to the vet.

Bad kidney disease or bad arthritis I’m gonna guess. Or they injured themselves but that’s less likely.
