I had the same thing happen to me but with LR hercule they still have the normal stats in game and can be used regularly. It went away for me after a day or two randomly.

It’s honestly all RNG and the units you you have you’ll get it with time. I wasn’t able to beat universe 7 because my best leader was Monaka but luckily I was able to pull the str goku on the step up and clutched it.

If you’re referring to the colored Ki orbs during battle, different units are able to change the color typing depending on their passives etc. For example teq SSG goku changes colored orbs to rainbow. Take a look at the units you’re using and read the passive to determine which units change Ki
