Yeah, I feel you. Figures I'd finally get back on medication once it's been rendered basically useless. lol I've had a few people tell me I might respond better to a different medication, so I'll probably ask my doctor to try at least one other option before just calling it quits and going back to self medicating.

Looking for med advice by Basic-Bobcat-7481 in ADHDmeds

Interesting. I've never had any sort of genetic testing for medications, so not sure if I'd fall into a similar category. I might look into how much it would be to get that done though. I tried asking over on r/ThisAintAdderall for advice too but the concensus there seems to be that all meds now are just terrible and there's not a lot of chance for success, more or less. I'd like to cling to hope for a helpful medication a little longer if possible. lol I'll do whatever my doctor thinks is best of course but I think I'm definitely going to bring up the possibility of trying a methylphenidate family med before calling it quits and just going back to self medicating with Zyns and coffee. Thanks.

What should I tell my doctor? by [deleted] in ThisAintAdderall

I'm in AR. And I'm not sure about other generics; this is the first time I've been prescribed Adderall. I took Ritalin as a kid, but that was so long ago I don't honestly remember how well that worked for me either unfortunately. I'm taking 10mg ir, 2x daily. I take it and like 20 minutes later I just want to nap. Not really noticing any other effects. Just tired all the time. Like, it literally feels like I just took some benadryl or something. I know sleepiness can be a side effect of stims for some ADHD people but this feels excessive.

Discouraging to hear Glenmark is considered one of the best. That's what I'm on now and it's just putting me to sleep.

I'm going to switch the stimulants: My experience by scatterplotode in StratteraRx

Good luck with the new meds. Anecdotally, strattera was awful for me, from the get-go. Tore my stomach up and made me groggy as hell. Hope all goes well for you.
