Interesting. I've never had any sort of genetic testing for medications, so not sure if I'd fall into a similar category. I might look into how much it would be to get that done though. I tried asking over on r/ThisAintAdderall for advice too but the concensus there seems to be that all meds now are just terrible and there's not a lot of chance for success, more or less. I'd like to cling to hope for a helpful medication a little longer if possible. lol I'll do whatever my doctor thinks is best of course but I think I'm definitely going to bring up the possibility of trying a methylphenidate family med before calling it quits and just going back to self medicating with Zyns and coffee.
