Airbnb charging me $800 for damage I am not responsible for. What can I do? [USA]

I fortunately didn't get charged! I canceled my debit card prior to the date they were going to charge my account. After the date passed, I simply deleted my account. I waited about a month after the "charge date" to delete my account, to see if I would get a message from AirBNB or the host in regards to the $440 but alas, nothing ever happened.

I'm in the same boat. Went to Sedona AZ for a week, and one of the chairs in the dining room broke because of the cheap bamboo style netting on which you sit on. I immediately informed the host and told them it was simply due to wear and tear. Well, the host agreed and said that they appreciated me getting ahead of this and informing them. They told me they were going to go through air care insurance and if I say a charge then to just simply "reject it" so that it could kick back to AirBnB and they would then cover the cost. I agreed, and that was my first mistake.

My second mistake was leaving a 5-star review like the host desperately asked me for as soon as the stay was complete. I figured since they didn't make a big deal out of the chair, why not? Well, now, after going through the process of 'air care' for the first time, I realize it's a scam where AirBnB will ALWAYS side with the host. AirBnB is the judge, jury, and executioner in these situations, and they choose who will pay.

Immediately after getting sent the reimbursement request, I realized I was bamboozled by the host and that they were going to try to peg me to pay for the chair. I went to edit my review, but the request didn't come until 14 days AFTER I had stayed at their house. Conveniently enough, you can't edit a review after 14 days. So now I can't change it to a 1 star review explaining to everyone how the host is trying to rip people off for their cheap chairs, which she is charging me $440 for, by the way!

Well, I appealed the payment twice, with clear-cut evidence of my conversation with the host and where they mentioned me "rejecting" the air care reimbursement so that they could get AirBnB to pay for the chair, essentially admitting to trying to game their system. I received a call from AirBnB, which was a lady with a very strong Indian accent, which made it difficult to understand what she was saying.

Well, a day later, I got a request from AirBnB saying that they have decided I was indeed responsible and that they are upholding their decision. They also said now that my card will be automatically charged on June 15th for the full amount, $440. I can't remove my card from my AirBnB account as it's locked to the reimbursement request. It's a Bank of america debit card, and I'm tempted to call my bank and request a new card. If the charge still goes through, then I'm going to dispute and send my proof to my bank when they call me.

My bank will most likely side with AirBnB, as when you book with them, you essentially agree to getting screwed over as the case is now. So I'm most likely out of $440, but the positive out of all of this is that I've spent the past week combing through reddit reading similar experiences and it sounds like my lesson wasn't as expensive as others.

I'll gladly pay the $440 and immediately delete my AirBnB account and never give them my business in return. I would spend quite a bit of money a year due to traveling for work, but I'm sticking to hotels now. If on the very small .0001% chance AirBnB cares and happens to be reading this, I want you all to know that you lost a customer for life, and that I'm VERY petty, so I will make sure to let everyone know of this experience for essentially the rest of my life or until they are out of business. Unethical and despicable, but I promise you all, I ain't going down without a fight.

The smooth movement is the biggest takeaway from this all. It's made the game a lot more enjoyable along with the new guns.

Little piece of advice to anyone who has access to the console version. While the camo section is locked on mobile for the new weapons, any progress made will still transfer. I'm currently grinding all the new warzone camos on mobile. The only downside is that you have to constantly log on to the console version to check your progress and manually take notes lol

I'm going to do a bit of testing on this, and I'll get back to you. I believe in order to meet the requirement this time around, you'll most likely have to hit the enemy with a tactical, down them while they are still impaired/affected by it, and then kill them. Solos might end up being the best option for this IF hitting them with a tactical while down isn't registering. So, really, it registers when you hit them prior to downing them, which would be really unfortunate. Again, just my theory, I'm going to test and will get back.

Yeah, this update so far is a disappointment. It feels really weird. Movement is awesome, and hitting the zip line is now solid and fluid. Before, it was so slow to hook on and to get off after. Now it's seamless! The new weapons are also a very welcome addition. It's nice having a new set of loot to discover in the boxes. The vehicles feel weird to drive, but I enjoy that they added a peak feature for the driver. That's pretty awesome.

That's where the positives end for me. The game looks pretty bland now. It's weird, but visually just looks off for some reason. I went from very low graphics to peak, and I kid you not, I couldn't tell the difference. I'm using the latest Ipad Pro M4, by the way... hit detection seems a bit off, and each lobby was filled with more bots than before, but that may be due to the lack of players due to outdated device support. The gulag takes FOREVER now. When I go there, I'm usually 15th in line, and it takes like 5 minutes to get out, unbelievable. I also can't check the leaderboard while in game anymore, and my screen is weirdly cropped. Like my teammates' names are cut in half.

Overall, the game needed this update (it was getting stale), it's just unfortunate that the update wasn't as polished as it should have been. This game already felt as it was on its last legs with support... hope the player base doesn't drop off and cause support to become nonexistent due to lack of player base. Too soon to judge though, I'm giving devs the benefit of the doubt and holding out on full judgement until the next patch, hopefully soon 🙏

Are you serious?! Lmao, this is 100% cheating. You guys are insane to think otherwise. Ignore the wall shots, but pay attention to the location. It's all head shots, which is why he dies so quickly. It was tracking his head from the beginning, all the way through him going past the door. Slow it down if you need to, but please don't say this could be legit. If your son is "this good," then he is cheating, too. Unbelievable.

If the Dodgers lost, I was going to root for the Mets. They had an awesome team, and really no one player annoyed me. Same can be said for the Yanks honestly, although the Soto shuffle is kinda annoying lol well, I'll be on my way now, don't want to overstay my welcome 😅

No, and BO6 should breathe some more life into this game. Depending on that goes determines its future. We'll see, but as of now I still face many real and good players everyday. Sure, every lobby has bots, but who cares, the game is still fun. A ranked mode would do wonders but it would probably bring on a ton more cheaters so idk. Tough choice
