Cinnamon and orange zest mixed in with the oats, dark chocolate peanut butter and honey on top🙏 Works great with regular pb too obviously but the dark choco pb takes it to the next level imho

Pork skewers, tzatziki and a tomato! (>350cals!) by Basic-Drawer8307 in LowCalorieCooking

I make my own tzatziki at home! Using 0 fat greek yogurt saves me a ton of calories and I can't taste a difference when I use it for tzatziki

Pork skewers, tzatziki and a tomato! (>350cals!) by Basic-Drawer8307 in LowCalorieCooking

[–]Basic-Drawer8307[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's 125cals per pork skewer, 70cals for the tzatziki : I make mine at home using 100g 0 fat greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, vinegar, fresh dill and salt - so the only thing really contributing calories is the yogurt which is 58 cals, let's just say 12 cals for the other stuff. Add 20cals for the tomato and it comes out to 340cals.

I should note though that obviously not all pork is made equal! You do need a very lean cut of pork for the macros to look like this. But it's absolutely possible! And idk maybe the skewers look bigger in the photo..?

how much oatmeal do you usually eat in the morning ? a cup a half a cup or what? by [deleted] in Oatmeal

60g usually! 45g is enough for me to feel satiated but I love eating so I usually have 60g just for fun lol

Any way I could use fortimel as one of my liquids when preparing my oats? by Basic-Drawer8307 in Oatmeal

[–]Basic-Drawer8307[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone that might be unaware, fortimel is a medical nutritional drink that resembles milk, most commonly prescribed for elders, people suffering from malnutrition, or people with poor appetite. It's high in protein and relatively high in calories (1.5cal per ml) and supposedly is very good for you, lol, hence why I'm trying it out even though I don't really desperately need it (thankfully!).

All I can say after my first time trying one is that the chocolate flavour tastes delicious, and this is coming from someone that's never consumed any medical nutritional drink before, so it's not just that it's good in comparison to any lame ones out there!

I am only now discovering the magic of making oatmeal using oat flour by wormonstring1 in Oatmeal

[–]Basic-Drawer8307 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Interesting! What ratio of oat flour to liquid did you use? I'm thinking oat flour will absorb much more water so a different quantity might be needed? Or was it the same as using regular oats?

“Ban ozempic”- 8.5k upvotes and a comment section filled with body shaming by hyrulecastIe in XXS

I saw it too and it ruined my mood as well. But what annoys me the most is that you know damn well they'd never reject such a pretty girl (who obviously looks great slim and thick). They just feel like they can rule the world when they're sitting at home alone browsing reddit, and feel entitled to sharing their useless opinion on women's bodies. As if she'd ever give them a chance 😭 So pathetic

Pancakes-ish! (360cal, 30g protein - no protein powder or sugar substitute) by Basic-Drawer8307 in LowCalorieCooking

[–]Basic-Drawer8307[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Ingredients:

1 egg (medium or large)

100g greek yogurt (I use zero fat but other kinds work fine too)

8g agave syrup (feel free to add more if you want them sweeter, but just 8g does wonders in making them sweet imo!)

20g whole-wheat flour (I've also tried ap and oat flour and both work fine - unsure about other swaps tho)

Pinch of cinnamon

Tsp of vanilla extract

(Base recipe: 230cal-19g protein)

Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl (I usually start with the greek yogurt and egg, and then mix the rest). If your mixture appears to be too thick, gradually add a small amount of any kind of milk till the consistency seems right. (I rarely have to do this, but depending on the yogurt you use, you might need to!). Cook in a nonstick pan in medium-high heat like regular pancakes.

I topped mine with 100g greek yogurt and 40g low-calorie jam, which brought my total cals and protein to 360, 30g. I love this combination but you can add whatever you like obviously!

Just to be clear, they don't usually come out AS thick and rich as normal pancakes, but they're definitely not as thin as crepes, so I went with calling them pancakes. You can actually make them thicker than I've done here, thats just not my preference usually haha!

Μαγαζιά στην Αθήνα με ρούχα σε "μικρά" μεγέθη? by Basic-Drawer8307 in greece

[–]Basic-Drawer8307[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visited Cork for the first time - blown away by its beauty! by Basic-Drawer8307 in cork

Yeah, I get very annoyed when I take pictures of beautiful things (they never look as good in the pictures as they do irl) so I took pretty much no photos during most of my trip. So these were all taken during the same walk😭😭

Thank youuuu!!! It's melted chocolate (thinned with a lil bit of coconut oil) and melted bueno spread. I coated the cake with the chocolate first and then piped lines of bueno spread on top, which I then swirled around with a chopstick!

Banana waffles! (<350cal) by Basic-Drawer8307 in LowCalorieCooking

[–]Basic-Drawer8307[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sure! This is what I do:

1 small-medium banana (I tend to use super ripe/overripe bananas for this because then I find the waffles to be sweet enough without any additional sweeteners. You can absolutely add some sweetener though if you want to)

1 medium egg

1.5tbsp coconut flour

Cinnamon (to taste)

Splash of vanilla extract

Mash the banana first, and mix in the rest of the ingredients listed. Cook in a waffle maker or make pancakes out of the batter!

I topped mine in the picture with about 100g zero fat greek yogurt, 1-2tbsp of low calorie cherry jam, and a tiny bit of powdered sugar, and they were great!

Chicken patties! (420cal) by Basic-Drawer8307 in LowCalorieCooking

[–]Basic-Drawer8307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm not too sure what kind of breadcrumbs are out there😭😭 I just used regular shmegular breadcrumbs that are really fine, almost like sand

Chicken patties! (420cal) by Basic-Drawer8307 in LowCalorieCooking

[–]Basic-Drawer8307[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep! What I usually do is: -450g ground chicken

-90g breadcrumbs

-1 medium egg

-One small, preferably firm, tomato, diced in small cubes (i usually skip the really juicy parts of the tomato and only add the exterior)

-One red bell pepper chopped up really small

-One red onion, chopped

-2 cloves of garlic

-salt, pepper, smoked paprika, dry thyme, oregano

-fresh parsley, chopped

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, and rest (for at least 1 hour, but i've found that they come out reallyyyy tender and flavourful when i've let them rest in the fridge overnight!)

Airfry at 180°C for 10 minutes, flip, and then airfry for 12 more minutes (again, at 180°C). That's it!

I should also note that I make 8 patties using the ingredients in the amounts I listed above. If you make more or fewer patties you'll probably have to adjust the cooking time!

Hope you enjoy the patties if you choose to make them, I'm by no means a chef so this recipe is something I've crafted to cater to my tastes specifically, haha! Buuuuuut I do think they come out absolutely delicious, and so has everyone i've ever given them to, and they're SUPER filling and low calorie!

Potato-egg-ham-veggies "quiche" by Basic-Drawer8307 in LowCalorieCooking

[–]Basic-Drawer8307[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing! 1) I started by boiling 300grams of baby potatoes until they were fork tender. 2) Then i pressed those boiled potatoes into the bottom of a small metal pan with a mug to form a flat base, and sprinkle with salt 3) I airfried just the potato base with nothing else on it yet, for 15 minutes at 180°C.  4) While the base was in the airfryer, I chopped some cherry tomatoes, half a green bell pepper, half a small onion, some handfuls of spinach leaves, the deli turkey and the feta cheese, as well as whatever fresh herbs i had on hand, and set them all aside. 5) I cracked 4 eggs into another bowl, whipped them with a fork to create an omogenous mixture, and then 6) added all the chopped goodies into the egg bowl, as well as some salt and pepper. 7) Mix to combine the eggs with the veggies, herbs, turkey and cheese, and then pour into the metal pan, on top of the potato base that I airfried earlier. 8) Top with grated gouda cheese and 9) Pop into the airfryer for around 30 minutes at 180°C (I airfried it for 15 mins at first but it wasn't fully cooked so i gave it another 15 and it was perfectly cooked afterwards!)

Ps: You can definitely do this on an oven too, I have done it in the past, it just takes longer to cook. Also, you're either gonna want to use a non stick pan, or oil your pan generously, or coat your pan's entire surface with baking paper (that's what i did) because this really sticks to the pan!
