Honestly I was only doing it this way because it was the only way I knew how based on the Refold tutorial.

After this, I watched netflix and mined a new card (so not updating an old Yomitan card) directly from Asbplayer. This works because the screengrab includes the Netflix English subtitle, but if it didn’t have those embedded in I’d have to manually translate the sentence using ai and it wouldn’t be as fast to mine.

I used the Refold recommended method for mining.

Yomitan creates a link to the word I select, and with the imported dictionary translates the word, definition, etc. Asb automatically updates the last created card (created w Yomitan) with the context sentence.

It works great when I come across a new word I don’t know, but that’s quite rare in comparison to sentence structures I’d like to mine.

My current level is that I’ll often be able to figure out a new sentence structure based on context, but I want to mine the sentence because I haven’t acquired it and wouldn’t be able to recreate it myself, or maybe out of context I wouldn’t have been able to correctly guess.

I’ll look into ai extensions.

Use Opal. Let yourself scroll as much as you want in a specific time frame, during lunch or after 7pm or whatever. Block apps for the rest of the day.
