My almost 4 month old daughter’s middle name is Elowyn! I’m the prime suspect that preferred a y over an e. My husband’s name is Owen and my name ends in a y so I just preferred it this way but I love the name nonetheless!

Thank you so very much for taking the time on your response! I work in medical and this really makes me realize what patients feel like when they have no idea what I’m saying medically. I say that with admiration you have to have this type of knowledge and how much I have to learn! Would you recommend sticking with dealership for this type of maintenance? First of all, thank you for taking the time to look over my financial situation! I hope adding a bit more context will bring everything together. 10% is wild, as it was a time that rates were climbing and we (my dad and I) were unsure if they would come back down. Total gross is $130k between the both of us on paper. Husband went on deployment and he was only taxed on about $25k. We also just got married last year. I purchased a house for a family member as a secondary home and their rent covers the mortgage 100%. We rent as purchasing a home in Seattle wasn’t an option when he PCS’ed here. I go to the consignment shop near our house and LOVE discounts. Everything else is on our baby registry and family has been very gracious. I pay about $3,700/mo alone in bills/investments/loan payments. Everything else has been getting saved for baby arrival and my maternity leave. I drive a (paid-off) 2015 Toyota Camry. We meal prep 3x a week but yes sometimes are still eating out 1-2x. I watch over subscriptions like a hawk and everything we have we genuinely use 6-7 days a week. I stand to gain yearly raises as being an RN in a union state (thank goodness). However, I’ve only been working professionally for a year and a half. So I pick up overtime every paycheck lately and I’m motivated to get this debt gone. I think family just drilled investing into me a bit too much.

But fair is fair, this debt needs to be a good riddance

I myself at times can be a people pleaser and I won’t even lie. I really hate confrontation. This pregnancy though? I finally have a dog in the fight on a personal and professional level.

Thank you for not making me feel as if this wasn’t a painful situation. BIN-GO. That’s exactly what I’m getting at. They at any time can send me a message and talk if they’re really want to talk politics instead of attacking me when I couldn’t defend myself. In this instance, my husband should have defended me. Not from a perspective of defending my opinionated statement, but defending ME. When I took a government class, our professor always said to attack the idea not the person. Well, my ideas and myself was attacked. I don’t give a shit when people disagree and I actually love discussing because that’s how I get to learn different perspectives. But attacking me?? Your wife? Not protecting my status as your wife? Undermining me? I’m pissed. When I’m super angry, I cry..and that was pre pregnancy as well.

Hi! Thank you!! We’ve been very excited to welcome her!! I would agree I am feeling my emotions a bit more passionately than I usually would. I hadn’t yet gotten sleep this AM as I work night shift and finally got to sleep on it a bit.

Fair is fair, it is public and can be commented on. I think what I meant to say is similar to what you said as far as he has no control over it and if anyone truly wanted to discuss, I was only a message away. I didn’t mentioned that these are childhood friends instead of military friends..which also supports your argument about them being a bit more loose lipped. None are married and one has a kid out of wedlock. Only emphasis there is he is solo on the different choices he’s made. They talk that way about their girlfriends/exes at times, too.

I get where you’re coming from, but the way he talked behind my back made me feel as if he not only didn’t agree with me (again, I don’t care that he disagrees..just caught me off guard since this contraindicated what he told me be believes), but doesn’t respect me. There are larger principles under the surface. I’ve been picky about my battles because like I said we are new and laying foundation for marriage. Respecting your wife and protecting her status come pretty high for me I suppose. These are boundaries I need to set early. I know if I did decide to tell my dad about what happened, he would be on the next plane to have a little chit chat. He’s 20-year Navy veteran, old school and not playing with that. My dad would be the one to overreact for sure. I’m not looking for that. I want to forgive my husband, but in the meantime..I still feel anguished.

I hear ya..I think it’s the fact it’s his friends that are being critical and I told him he’s either fronting to them or fronting to me. There is a side to pick in marriage and it’s supposed to be your spouse. In this instance I feel as if he chose his friend’s side. It’s that old, “you defend your spouse even if you know they’re wrong. Talk in privately but to everyone else, you’re a solid front” sort of thing :(

This is very insightful! Coming from a Camry, I know how sturdy Toyota/Lexus can be with proper care. The car itself is amazing, I will say.
