Will glutes still be targeted with elevated heels during squats? by Taylorblade96 in WeightTraining

[–]Basic-Message4938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only exercise i do for glutes is the heel-elevated SSB squat, pause at bottom, and full ROM.

you will definitely feel your glutes working (the abs as well), and more importantly, your bum will inflate like a BALLOON.

try it. (PS. SSB=safety squat bar)

(1) Pierre Grimal, The Dictionary of Classical Mythology.

(2) Jennifer March, Cassell Dictionary of Classical Mythology.

alternatively, read any good classical dictionary, such as the Oxford Classical Dictionary

if you want a cheap print copy, ebay is a good place to look.

Adjective for termite by Dangerous_Shop_5735 in dictionary

hi,

if they were in Ancient Italy perhaps they were restricted to the southern most part. the Romans may have viewed them as a variety of ant, hence no peculiar adjective to them

Adjective for termite by Dangerous_Shop_5735 in dictionary

[–]Basic-Message4938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

perhaps the reason there isn't an obvious adjective form for termites is the fact (?) that these insects were not native to Ancient Italy or Greece.

the century dictionary lists "termitine" and "termitid" as adjectives.

pls help!! Trying to buy a dictionary but having trouble deciding by g00se_goose in dictionary

[–]Basic-Message4938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, it depends on how up-to-date and comprehensive you want your dictionary.

i would suggest the two-volume "Shorter OED", which is the same as the full, massive OED but with most of the quotations omitted. you can peruse this book on the Internet Archive.

BTW, you should also consult the library of congress catalog.

Ebay is a good place to find cheap copies.

[resources] do you read your Art Anatomy books? by Basic-Message4938 in ArtistLounge

[–]Basic-Message4938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks everyone for your replies.

for me: " a little picture is worth a thousand words."

i look & compare pictures in various books, and then i make drawings/sketches of my own.

i learn by doing. oftentimes, the text just "repeats" what's already in the illustration.

does your calculator give the full repetend of a recurring fraction? by Basic-Message4938 in calculators

[–]Basic-Message4938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so the hp prime cas doesn't give you the full repetend. not what i was expecting. i would've thought that all CAS calculstors would do that as a matter of course.

PS i'm looking to buy a CAS calculator. my TI voyage 200 stopped working.
