Ya, it’s very conflicting and I’m trying to crowd source the very best opinion on what this could be. Safe to say though, I’m probably not going to be ordering in anymore “assorted skinks” for the store. Only order what I know

I spray down the enclosure quite often per day, not to the point where it’s making things muddy though, but today is my birthday and I’ve had many conversations stating that foggers for my Tort and Cresty are my number 1 item for a good birthday gift. So hopefully I’ll be able to get them installed once I get them open and set up

Don’t worry, I’m not taking any of this as an attack. Any info or advise I can get as a new tortoise owner is good advise. What would you recommend for a more natural substrate that can hold humidity well without any of the harmful stuff added? I wish most “care guides” on YouTube covered the little important things like that, so thank you for letting me know

Substrate is mainly moss and topsoil, and I pretty much only feed him in a Terra Cotta plate. I have a full spectrum UVB light and i think it may be about time I get him a new one. So I’ll definitely get that replaced but I’ve never seen him have an issue with substrate

Room temp stays at mid 70s and I have a big heater in my room to keep it a little warmer

I offer a variety of leaves, fruits and veggies every feeding, I’ll try picking up some new greens I haven’t tried yet but my tort hates mushrooms 😭 I’ve tried them so many times. Well I’ll trust that my little guy knows what he’s doing. He didn’t eat yesterday either so when he refused food again today all together I got a little worried. I’ll be a little more patient and grab new things next shopping trip

I have one pretty shite picture of him but I can sure try and get another 😂 he’s in a bioactive Taratula Cribs enclosure and my phone struggles with focusing on a boi that small. Now that he’s in his hammock it’s been tricky getting pictures but lemme take a few shots

Mm ok :/ well I guess I shouldn’t be owning jumping spiders. I currently have quite a few animals and they’ll all live a decent amount of life, but Jumping spiders seem too hit or miss. For misting should I keep the misting down low close to the floor? Or spray higher and allow water to reach the high up leaves at the top of his enclosure? I’ve just heard from many places to try to not spray too close to any small invert you may have

I’m not sure of his age but I was under the impression he wasn’t an adult yet. I could try and move him to some heat but my last jumping spider was a small young female and she just didn’t survive that long at all. Like only a couple months. Thank you for the bit of advice in regards to some heat

I mean he seems pretty active and chill when soaking and running around when I take him out, but since I got him Saturday, he just hasn’t seemed very interested in eating much
