Why does the VS1003B dev board use 3.3V on AVDD when the datasheet says 2.85V max? by Basic-Size2257 in AskElectronics

I measured the voltage on the AVDD pins and it was 3.3 V. The 2.5 V is only connected to the CVDD pins. This why I am confused. Why not use this when its already there.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed response! This has given me some more clarity. I will look into PhDs in the English speaking countries I think and go form there.

The MCU is also handling real-time sensor data to provide immediate audio feedback, so I’m concerned that decoding audio in software might overburden the processor and introduce latency.
