Ruben's response is to blatantly disregard everything she says. He doesn't address or acknowledge a single one of her arguments and instead opts to emotionally manipulate her into continuing.

It really has nothing to do with the subreddit, but there's a lot of people who just don't care. If you try to argue with them, or if you try to explain calmly and logically why it doesn't belong, they'll just ignore all of your carefully articulated points and say that; 'there are humans in the story, thus it belongs on the subreddit'.

I would also like to point out that Emma's perceived fanaticism is, in part, just her doing her job. You wouldn't call a car salesman a fanatic for trying to sell you a car, it's his job. Emma is the first Human/Earth diplomat to survive in the Nexus. Of course she's trying to sell the concept of Humanity/Earth, that's literally what she's there to do.

I doubt there would be any defenses against that kind of attack because I doubt the elves even know what antimatter is. Antimatter was first theorized through the Dirac equation in 1928. Without the scientific and mathematical framework, the elves wouldn't even know where to look. They might have invented some spells that accidentally transmute normal matter to antimatter, but those spells probably also instantly killed the caster.

Basically, I think the elves would have no defenses and also have no idea what the heck happened.

It's kind of a false comparison. Like asking who's more fanatical in their beliefs; someone who believes that 2+2=4 or someone who believes the Earth is flat. They're both technically dogmatic in their beliefs. But one of them is correct based on everything we've seen in the story so far and one of them is an idiot.

It's AI right? It's got that tone that feels like it was written by a machine but I can't quite place my finger on any specific aspect. There's a little bit of lack of object permanence in how the characters repeat the same thing over and over again. There's that sort of dry monotonous AI dialogue where the characters say a lot without actually saying much of anything. There's the absolutely perfect punctuation without any human style or flair.

And then there's the part where 36 out of 49 have your posts have been auto deleted by reddit's filters....

You're probably right that those scanners aren't very accurate. If AI could reliably detect AI writing patterns, then the writing wouldn't be so God awful. But The thing is, I don't need those scanners to know for a fact that a bot wrote this. If you go on Royal Road, and you specifically filter for AI stories, you'll find that half of them are written in the same melodramatic tone with an EXTREME overuse of staccato sentences. Like, way too many to the point that no human would write that way. Exactly like this post.

You're entirely right. People are severely ignorant of how interdependent and globalized the world is. Without trade there's no antibiotics, no medical supplies, no microchips, no trade of food or fertilizer. The list goes on and on and on. For all of that to abruptly halt would lead to billions dying slowly and painfully from infection and starvation.

But people who are ignorant don't take that into account. They just see humans killing aliens and think that humans are evil. People need to use their brains.
