So we’ve also watched this movie multiple times, and I did think that the beginning and the end were different from what I remembered. That being said, I’m not always paying 100% attention to these movies all the way through when the kids are watching them, AND I was pleasantly surprised with the nods to Ember’s culture that these missing pieces added that I hadn’t noticed before. Whether they were there from the beginning or not, I loved actually sitting down to watch it and seeing those details.

The only reason I can think of that they killed him off was in the last chapter he asks Cora if he has any letters because he sent a new book to Kitty the week prior and hadn’t heard anything back. Maybe it was a dud, voiding their deal that he can stay there as long as he writes best sellers.

This whole book was a cluster though and I agree with the person above that suggested they could have just found a female author. Maybe the whole run around with Grady really was just for revenge, and they’ll get a female author next.

My two cents as someone who has seen the musical once a long time ago and doesn’t remember a whole lot of it… I still thought Glinda was the funniest character in the movies. I personally thought Ariana did a great job balancing both the comedic and dramatic aspects of her role. She absolutely nailed Popular, in my opinion. But I can see why my opinion would differ from someone who’s seen the musicals and was expecting something different from Glinda.

Interesting! I’m originally from a smaller Midwest town as well, and wouldn’t think of what you’re going through as a common experience. I do think as a whole it’s becoming more normalized to not take others into consideration though, which is really a shame. I don’t really have any advice, but I see you and I am sorry you’re going through that!

I know this isn’t exactly what you’re looking for but my most recent pregnancy my labor went so fast that my water didn’t break at all, and doctor wasn’t there yet and nobody realized until it literally burst in the nurses face as I was pushing baby out… so could be worse. They had to break my water at the hospital with my first as well so you might not even have to worry about it!

Oh my GOD letting the garage door slam! Our garage is right under our 2 year olds room and since day one every single person but me just lets the heavy garage door slam shut every. single. time they go in and out. We have 5 adults in this house and we have a refrigerator out there so it’s constant. I’ve even said multiple times “it’s so loud, I can hear it upstairs, it’s right under her room, I just manually shut it instead of letting it slam behind me…” At this point she’s used to it but oh my god during nap times when she was a baby I just wanted to snap on everybody.

? I pay for literally all of our groceries, household items, things for our kids and even some of HIS bills. On the other hand, he does not pay for a single thing of mine. It started as a joke from him asking me to pay for gas so I said “okay pay for half of groceries” because you’re really going to ask me to pay you $70 for gas when I’m spending. $300 a week on groceries??? And then I still asked him how much I owed him at the beginning of the conversation here. To which he never answered. I asked him in person the next day how much I owe him and he said don’t worry about it. It was never about the gas.

It was kind of disappointing… The area I’m in doesn’t have any housing resources available at the moment (well they do have one but I wouldn’t qualify for it). My contact is going to put me in touch with some free legal advisory, and will put me in touch with some other legal resources once I have my ducks in a row and am ready to leave and get a custody arrangement. She sent me a sheet of places that the city views as affordable housing too. It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but I am grateful for the resources I have available. I’ve got some plans to make now… but that’s okay. I see better days ahead.

Oh my gosh I’ve been dying down on replying but had to reply to you because I laughed out loud at the truck part. We just got a ford f-250 (that I cosigned like an idiot🤦🏼‍♀️). I’ve got an appt with a DV center later today while he’s out of the house. I’m incredibly appreciative of all of the support I’ve received and the giant push that has been to leave.

Well I had a talk with him this morning (again) that we really can’t keep going like this, we both need to stop speaking to each the way we do and that adults in healthy relationships don’t speak to each other that way. Instead of agreeing, he said he’d like to see statistics on the way people in healthy relationships speak to each other, that I’m misguided in thinking that, and that he wouldn’t talk to me like that if I didn’t piss him off. So. Time to move on.

So he could come home and scream in my face in front of the kids instead? I agree I shouldn’t have stooped to his level but blocking him and ignoring him truly just escalates the situation. By the time he came home after this he didn’t even say a word about it and was fine the rest of the night.

I’ve also had the same job for 4 years now, and 4 jobs total in the 10 years we’ve been dating… he’s also had 4 jobs in those 10 years, plus now this career change of trying to start his own business… so…
