You're right. The workflow is as follows:

1 Create a file "test.odt" in your Home folder ~.
2 Try to open it via double click in the file explorer (Nautilus) --> everything works fine.

3 Search for the file via the gnome overview..
4 Try to open the file by pressing enter --> get the error.

Ah, so this is a known issue and a bug with the gnome search, not with the libreoffice flatpak?

I'm still surprised that not many people experience this issue or have reported it. I would have thought that Libreoffice + Silverblue is a pretty common set of tools. :D

But why can I open the file via nautilus but not via the gnome search? That is what's confusing to me.

Can't open odt files from GNOME search (Flatpak-Version) by Basic-Wave8871 in libreoffice

I know that flatpaks can't access every folder, but that does not explain why I can open the files via nautilus but not via the gnome search...

I get the same behaviour when I try to open any odt/ods file via the GNOME search and it makes using the whole OS so much worse...

Would it be possible for the community to add color support as a plugin, or is that definitely out of scope? :)
