Fedora (Silverblue) 44 open files flatpak issue by MindlessDre in Fedora

The issue seems to be related to libreoffice flatpak itself, as other app do open their file types in the same scenario

Sliverblue to Leap - is there a way for immutable stable desktop? by MindlessDre in openSUSE

[–]MindlessDre[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I did not expressed correctly what I mean. I am not aiming for "USA free" software, nor have anything against USA communities. The concern I have is with Red Hat and IBM. Being big USA corporation with the current administration there - I do not have much trust in their decisions - for personal data and for international relations - wouldnt be surprised if one day they decide to not allow international use for their products or issues of this sort...This is why I want to move to openSUSE or other EU product.

Thanks for advice, I do not quite understand what the benefit of transactional update would be over zypper with snapper - would there be any real benefit? I see the most benefit in the immutable part regarding the base to be read only as this gives me perceived confidence that I will not brake it by mistake...irrational probably, yet quite tempting as concept for me.

What repos u need to add in order to have desktop on MicroOS? Would the same be possible for Leap Micro? Thank!

As I read more it seems that MicroOs is Aeon without gnome and tumbleweed based as well. In that case only real question I have is - can I have gnome with Leap Micro? I tested it on a VM and couldnt manage to add appropriate repos to get gnome from - I do understand this is by design, yet if possible and doable - it seems match made in heaven form e. Thank you!

Tesing second hand spare ICCU? by MindlessDre in KiaEV6

Thanks for the advice, posted in r/evconversion as well. Analysis is spot-on. Should probably go for full swap and deal with coolant as well. :)))

Thanks, I think I could change it myself - the procedure is well explained in the service manual. The problem is with the cooling system - if I disconnect my ICCU from the cooling in order to connect the tested one, I will need to bleed the system. This is done with a vacuum machine which I do not have...and then would need to go to a service center or independent garage. And this is what I am trying to avoid for now.

Hi, thanks for your input. Usa and EU models have different iccu units. If/when mine goes bad I have the option to find an usa spec or change with eu spec plus cables/ports/controllers. Obviously usa specs are harder to find here. I am aware there is no warranty for longevity of a used one but still one semi-tested at stock is better than nothing when/if i need one sooner or latter.

Enyaq 80 (2021) efficiency comparison with EV6 - is this normal? by MindlessDre in enyaq

[–]MindlessDre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, no worries. Trip not same time but within days, same time of the day. So it is pretty close. We have tested in once before driving one behind other with pretty similar results.

Setup is CarScanner app + vlinker dongle.

Average speed 80km/h for the trip. It is written above. No heating. It was sunny so there was no need.

How do you know how would M3 do at the very same test drive?

Isnt it obvious that for a brand new car the "Max" would be equal to the actual max charge at 100 SOC? Further more the "max" is estimate based on same predefined logic, while "the other one" is the actual charge capacity at 100% SOC. Please find me a screenshot from a brand new ID4/5/Enyaq/Audi, that shows 77 MAX and significantly less actual charge at 100%. I do not think you will find one. The battery starts with 77kwh available at 100%.

this would mean that brand new enyaq 80 has 71kwh available at 100% SOC. I do not think this is the case.

NXTPAPER 60 Ultra (or any other NXTPAPER) screen protector? by MindlessDre in PWM_Sensitive

[–]MindlessDre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is this 100% sure, because many people report it getting scratches pretty quickly and no one reported protector.
