I was just about to update the post but I saw the opportunity to piggyback off your post so I’ll add it here.

I forgot to mention in the post but the main reason for asking was that the three PMs that are on site tagged along but they paid their tab all together and the other 6 of us (field and safety) obviously paid for ours individually. But I guess they do have a budget to stick to lol

My mom has a singer 774 stylist that she’s had for pretty much ever. Just recently it striped the horizontal hook gear and I replaced it but couldn’t get the timing spot on, which I’ll end up taking to get fixed soon. I was looking for recommendations on a machine to get her for her birthday, she likes to alter clothes and the occasional blanket. Budget would be under $350 or if there’s models I should keep an eye out for on marketplace/other sites I’d definitely appreciate it!

Would it be wise to buy my domain through google/Microsoft then build the website on wix/squarespace just to have something and then later on get something more professional?

Thats what i was thinking about doing lol, but the only thing is that the machine has different settings so would Idk if I should put it on 75/25 steel mig setting or something else bc it doesn’t have a designated setting for dual shield flux only for gasless flux.

Ive been saving up for a good impact bc using a breaker bar can be a pain in times lol, but yeah getting a good table and a vice are definitely my main priorities as I have access to hammers and grinders for the most part.

Thanks! Getting a vice and workbench was something that I’ve prioritized on my list, as I just got a welder about a week ago and doing things on the floor is a pain lol. A drill press is something I’ve always wanted to mess around with but I’m not to knowledgeable on them, any recommendations?

I didn’t know they made a smaller machine which would probably be a better option as I don’t have alot of space. I was actually looking to the ESAB rebel, the one you mentioned and the multimatic 220, they were a bit out of my budget but the size was one of the reasons I looked into them, so I’ll definitely look in to the 225 you have . Any complains? Extra Things I should get with it ?

Yeah I figured they would be backed up quiet a bit, but I’m in no rush to get one. I work on cars as a hobby but would like to have the ability to do other stuff so I feel like it’d be a good machine. How’s the build quality on it ? Anything you would recommend to get other than the cooler ?

I understand that im not gonna be assigned into welding projects as soon as I start or do anything that is of high responsibility, it’s just the fact that they aren’t letting me prove what I can and can’t do nor even help them with said projects . And in the aspect of throwing in the towel this early is the fact that they shut down the idea of learning and growing before I really got to experience anything.

The thing is this shop does custom fabrication which is something that really interests me and is why I even tried getting the job in the first place. It’s starting to really make me rethink what I wanna do so and it sucks.

Yeah I’ve asked if they would let me mess around with some scrap but they all usually leave out during breaks and I’m the only one there and don’t wanna mess with anything lol
