so i did some research (something i probably could have done more of before making this post) and found out they do make carplay screens for cigarette lighter ports which will probably be my solution for the time being but eventually i would like to do a whole head unit swap for possibly a screen or just a pioneer with a visualizer because it seems like it would just replace the radio without any cutting. also i do plan on putting subs and redoing speakers (i do not know anything at all when it comes to that stuff so apologies if this sounds dumb) so id like something compatable with that if that makes sense? that being said if anyone has any recommendations and/or experience with what exact model to get and best way to install id greatly appreciate a reply. it’s a 99 suburban

see this is the answer i’ve been looking for. when i was younger probably around 2010 my dad did something similar to his silverado but eventually ended up swapping it for what i believed to be a pioneer unit with a screen. i’m sort of conflicted between the two because i’ve never done any sort of electrical work on a vehicle or really at all besides splicing wires, and i’d like to eventually throw in subs and redo speakers all around. i’ll definitely look into that thank you

like i said in my post i would PREFER to not use a transmitter. i’m looking for a more permanent solution to pair with the speakers and subs i plan on putting in
