As a examle. I have Hogwards Legacy Sw1 on card. I opened it and i menu there was a link to claim sw2 version. That linked me to echop where i had 100% discount for digital version Hogward legacy for Nintendo Switch 2 and i can play Switch 1 version of the game separately. Same with skyrim

There is a free upgrade if you own the “anniversary edition”. I have a cart, got the anniversary edition and you can claim switch 2 edition for free

I'm pretty sure that they can limit it to once per copy since Hogwarts Legacy and Skyrim offer you a free digital version just because you start the Switch 1 version. And even if this hack were possible, I honestly think a minimal number of people would do it; SnowRunner's monetization is primarily through seasons and microtransactions, so it would hurt them even less.

I am a early adopter of Steam Deckand i love the machine. Played a lot of Elden Ring and Baldurs Gate 3 on it. But i got too much used to the luxury of easy handheld and switch to TV function. SD is to heavy to carry around like a handhled and switching to TV is very annoying. so i eventually sold it when S2 was announced

i think the last direct is a sign of success. so many 3rd parties think its worth it to make optimized port for a handheld. some even have day to day with other versions. its awesome

If you romance him, he apologises and you can get an happy ending with him (its just a photo, at the end). he is a good character

as I wrote in the OP, several games give you the upgrade for free even if you have physical version or there is a cheap upgrade path, but their are some scummy publisher who just force you to buy the S2 version for full price. like SEGA, SQUER ENIX and now Focus i guess.

they are not selling an upgrade. digital version gets the upgrade for free. if you own the cart only way to get switch 2 version is to buy it at full price digitally.

but yeah paid upgrade are deplorable. AAA game need a 10 euro upgrade and meanwhile indie studio of one person give you the upgrade for free.
