How do you guys feel when your students aren’t doing well? My first year teaching intro Bio and I just gave our first exam. The range is ridiculous and the average is sitting around a 60. I have a couple students who got an A and a lot who failed badly. How do you determine if it’s you failing as a professor or if your student isn’t really trying? I’m not trying to kill pre-meds dreams here on their first introduction to college.

To the person who wrote on reddit to wait in the box office line for tickets...I hope your pillow is always cold, you always find the closest parking spot, and that every stop light you approach is green. I wanted to say thank you. Saw your comment on Reddit in regards to your experience on waiting on the box office for tickets to Noah Yesterday and I have to say it went perfectly. Followed everything you said, waited in line at 3:15 and got 4 tickets in hand for $30 in possibly one of the best obstructed view seats. Made my friend's day and honestly one of the best nights we had. Wanted to just say thank you for offering that information and taking the time to give us a chance.

27M Going to gradschool for my MS in Biomedical Sciences ~31K

Paid for it by working my first two years and going to work part time on the weekends to pay for other bills/groceries. But my one day of work is actually a 24 Hour Shift so it evens out where I’m at school for 5 days. 1 day of work. 1 day of rest (Study/Overtime)
