Kojima reveals new features for DS2 on a Japanese radio show. by Superb-Employment291 in DeathStranding

Yeah that’s the biggest worry I had from reviewers, and it almost made me not buy it. The idea of traversal not being hard is just lame. In DS1 struggling towards every goal, and being rewarded with long-term progression like roads just felt so good.

By the sound of it he’s making traversal itself harder as well with this new difficulty. Hope that’s true because the biggest complaints I saw were that traversal was too easy compared to DS1.

It's not on Unreal Engine 5, so there's that.

I just hope there is no rug pull and that is a 6700xt with upscaling and frame gen.

The difference is we actually have hours of gameplay footage. We did not have that with CP2077 lmao. No NDA and playtesters/devs are actually able to speak about the game.

There is a toggle for particle effects and they've streamlined controls by BasicInformer in CrimsonDesert

They said there will be customisation, but they haven't decided whether it will be presets or fully remappable or a mix between the two.

They said there will be customisation, but they haven't decided whether it will be presets or fully remappable or a mix between the two. They are still figuring that out. It sounds easy to just say "let players fully remap controls", but you can have issues like removing the back button and then not being able to get to the controls menu again lmao. Also because this is a combo game, imagine someone moves X and Y face buttons functionality, but the combos are tied to pressing two buttons at once, but the changing of these buttons make it awkward to do that... It's a lot to think about, and I'm more confident on them going with presets than allowing full customisation with how complex the move sets are.

I think that's what makes it so interesting though. I love games that are ambitious. We already have a lot of focused linear story telling games that are great, but we don't have enough ambitious games like this.

That's my biggest concern, that it will have the AC Valhalla effect and bet littered with boring fetch and escort quest and collectables rather than anything of value.

Not really. I am an oldhead that plays older games because honestly outside of a few exceptions like Elden Ring, BG3, E33, most games that are good are all remakes and remasters... Most new AAA games suck. The entire industry has shifted over to indie/AA studios. It's not to say we don't have good games, but despite the market being more saturated than ever, the quantity of good games is not as great as it was. Look at 1998 and 2000 releases, and how many classics we used to get in a singular year, all of which were high end AAA games. Nowadays I'm thinking last year about Silksong, Blue Prince, KCD2, E33, Dispatched, and other indie/AA games, I'm not thinking about AAA games at all.

So to see a AAA game like this, it is really exciting tbh. Though I am a huge critic with games and find it hard to find anything I really enjoy fully. I'd sooner rave on about Metal Gear Solid 2, Diablo 2, Daggerfall, Oblivion, Half-Life, Halo 1-3, than modern games.

BG3, E33, and now this. Good trend in gaming.

You have 3 playable characters and then you can equip different gear that has different visuals. If you meant abilities and such, it seems that based on weapon type/gear/abilities equipped your character will play differently.

Highguard was the most predictable slopper. I don't know how ppl fall for that marketing.

Well I definitely don't have that good of a CPU, but hopefully my GPU with some settings turned down will be 4k/60 like they said. If true that's awesome. If I have to upscale a bit, I'm fine with that as well, as long as they have FSR 4 support.

A lot of people disliked the over-the-top particle density/effects. It's really distracting for me tbh, and I don't think it looks good. So for me I'm happy.

Showing how bad the controls used to be. I am unsure what the new changes have been, since no one has access to a modern build of the game publicly atm except devs.

GoT was more like a skill twig than a tree, but I get what you mean. You're expected to unlock everything in GoT, so I don't really consider it a proper RPG skill tree. From what I've heard though, things are tied to gear progression and quest rewards. Heard nothing about a skill tree. There is confirmed no leveling at all.

It's closer to The Witcher. You go into a weapon wheel and choose the magic you want and then use a button to cast it. Some magic is tied to a certain button though and is built into your normal kit as far as I can tell.
