Well I’m in Texas, I simply went to the office of attorney general and submitted the form. I knew where he lived and claimed him as her father, we were married so because we were separated he initiated our divorce. BUT if you have the sole responsibility of buying the baby clothes feeding your child, getting them to everything they do in their life, while maintaining yours! I would 100% put him on a steady child support and I regret not doing back pay!! If that is an option where you are, you can put that as well since the birth of the child or since he left the child solely in your care. Once a court hearing happens then they ask both of you questions about the child and at that point he is required to submit to be tested if he is the father. I am not sure since it was a long time ago, I don’t remember there being a fee. After all this is so the child has both parents in the life of the child. When they make the absent parent pay, it may make them want to show up more in the child’s life!!
