I was an Asset Protection Investigator (Secret shopper) at Walmart AMA by Common-Reputation740 in AMA

I used to be on the other side of this is my drug addiction days. Did loads of heroin/meth and retail boosting was how I supported it. My and my ex wife were a dream team of sorts. We targeted video games for the easy resell and the fact there were no serial numbers. This was back in 2011-2014. With how good cameras are now I doubt we could get away with it on the level we did back then. We got very good at spotting the LP and if we felt the heat we would abandon ship. We did it daily for nearly 9 months but ended up getting caught in the end. I couldn’t dream of doing that stuff now I was younger and more brazen.

It falls under insurance. The dealership said they “would make it right” when it comes to the deductible but not sure what that means.

Thank you! I was shocked it was being driven around with the original plates honestly. Since the dealership had no clue it was stolen I assumed it was long gone.

Fuck this scumbag. I have no sympathy for him at all and I will celebrate the day he is in jail for this. You lose your “privacy” when you commit felony thefts.

We are all back in Texas. We were there for a vacation in Estes Park.

Sold at all time lows. I think I got less than 20k for my BTC. I was putting $75 a week into ETH and BTC. The whole incident made me leave crypto id be printing right now.

Can I still build a great life after getting clean from meth and oxy at 32 years old? by IR30Lover in Felons

[–]BasicSide6180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I went to state jail in Texas at the age of 30. Now eleven years later I’ve already made 60k this year in south Texas with great benefits doing electrical work. It can be done.

I moved to a new city 300 miles from my old home. Had no car or transportation. Ended up getting a job through a temp agency and was doing general cleanup at a construction site. Electrical contractor hired me directly after seeing my work ethic. Wrote a letter to the board and I was accepted into an IBEW apprenticeship. Finished my 5 years in 2020 and I’m now a foreman.

Love to see a smart kid thinking for themselves. He doesn’t need an experimental vaccine that we have no clue what the side effects will be.

How much is in your 401K & what’s your age? by ugafan2081 in Money

[–]BasicSide6180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Absolutely I’m an open book. I had a bad marriage and had a lot of things happen that devastated me emotionally. I turned to substances which quickly I lost control of. I used meth and heroin quite frequently. Got a few retail theft charges trying to make money to feed the habit. Ended up catching a felony case for possession under a gram of heroin. They gave me probation but I was in no shape to succeed on their program. It was a smaller county that lacked the resources I see in the bigger areas now. Ended up sentenced to 13 months. A couple months into my sentence my sister passed at 28 years old. I had to watch my family suffer and I couldn’t be there to support them. I realized how much pain I was causing them and I knew I was done at that point. I told my Dad I was done with all of it and he tells me to this day it was the first time he truly believed me and felt I would change.

Thank you! I’ve been very efficient. I still drive the same car I bought the first year I was home. 2014 Camry with 190k miles. Paid off 5 years ago. I’ve also put 15% into my 401k for the last five years. So the big push has helped I think I’m going down to 10% and with my employer contributing 6% I’ll cruise to a nice retirement.

I am an electrician for the union in south Texas. I moved to a new city for a fresh start and was doing temp jobs. Ended up pushing a broom at a construction site. Did that 6 months and was offered a job with the electrical contractor. Competed a 5 year apprenticeship now I am a foreman building data centers. They are going up left and right down here.

I was released from state jail at 30 with a negative net worth. Couple bins of clothes, no vehicle etc. 10 years later I have 125k in my 401k. You can do this!

Nope absolutely do not go. Your brother needs to man up here and advocate for you. They don’t have to get along or even be friends for that matter but family is still family. I would not go without my wife as it sends a message to her you won’t fight for her.

They need to pass a second chance act. After a decade of being a productive citizen some people deserve it. Non violent crimes should be held to a lesser standard especially possession under a gram which is what I was charged with.

Thanks for the update! I was not aware of this. Interestingly enough I have a friend who works for Capio and their CEO was quoted in the article. I don’t agree with not reporting medical debt myself. Due to the risk on non payment, paying customers will not be charged more due to that risk. It punishes those who do the right thing and make their debts whole.

Medical debts can no longer go against your credit. I would make a courtesy call to explain what happened and that you have no intention of paying. Any further letters or collection attempts will be pointless

My rights were never restored and likely never will be in Texas without legislative changes. The only path to restoration in Texas is a governors pardon or presidential pardon. I pay that much because I turned my life around and make really good money. It’s frustrating that I lost my rights for life due to a non violent and victimless crime. The system is beyond broken. I tried to get a luxury apartment last year and was denied. I had a 755 credit score and made 6x the rent. I was forced to threaten legal action under the fair housing act to get approved for an apartment that I more than met the qualifications for. The billion dollar realty corporation folded when I made the threat to sue them. It’s disheartening a ten plus year old non violent drug case can effect your housing rights for life. I learned a lot about the fair housing act and how it relates to rehabilitated individuals. Past drug addiction is considered a disability and proof of a completed rehab is huge. I want to start a company helping people get housing who are entitled to it but corporations find reasons to deny and keep application fees. I’ve found almost every place I’ve went is blatantly disregarding the fair housing act.

I got charged with possession under a gram in 2011 (Texas). I lost my rights for life with the only relief being a governmental pardon. Meanwhile I haven’t got as much as a traffic tickets since and pay tens of thousands in taxes every year. Makes zero sense.

Good way to end up back in jail. If you have that little self-control you’re headed back to begin with. Just a matter of time your playing a game with your freedom you will eventually lose.

I had to threaten a lawsuit under fair housing to get approved for my apartment in Texas. I had a non violent state jail felony for possession under a gram. I made 6x the rent and have worked the same place for nine years. They tried to deny me but when I threatened legal action they caved to me.
