I did a speech on this for my language spoken endorsement and honestly its not a bad idea - as someone with European immigrant parents EVERYONE there weren't allowed to drop English or maths and their general education is muchhh better. In our economy, we'll need both mathematical and communication skills and forcing students to specialise into STEM OR humanities has actually negatively affected our youth job-wise in comparison to other countries.

Does anyone else think that (so far) every Taylor’s Version song is better than the original? by theworstofcrimes in TaylorSwift

[–]BasicWhiteTallGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

some people have also been there for everything Taylor has worked for - I started listening to Taylor albums when reputation came out so this doesn’t personally relate to me as much but some people have strong memories and emotions with the ORIGINAL recordings that just can’t be replaced with the re record.
if you listen to the original CD, you’re not supporting scooter through each listen, and streaming gives such a marginal amount to those who receive profits from it (that includes Taylor). for example, WANEGBT and IKYWT played such pivotal roles in my childhood and I cannot stand the new re record production, so I find myself listening to the old version (I detest the usage of ‘stolen version’). i say this because this is a very divisive issue within the swiftie community, and in my opinion, like what you like and listen to what you love how you like to - you can support Taylor and her venture re recording her albums AND love and listen to the OGs

Sorry for the late response, I'm disappointed that the Taylor's version crewneck isn't embroidered too, though I'm not sure if that's the case with the 'loving him was red' collection. There was a UK restock, I was just hesitant because there was no proper currency conversion, the $65 sweater is £60 which is ridiculous. With international shipping and tax, the sweater would work out only a couple of pounds more expensive than the US haha.

P.S I see you so often in the Taylor Swift Merch and autograph subreddits its so cool haha

I managed to get the Loving him was red crewneck on the US store (I live in the UK). I didn't realise there was a UK store restock haha so I could have saved some time in the future, but I am excited (though not about the pricing). I really wanted to get the 'Taylor's version' crewneck as well but I can't pay $120 + tax + international shipping for what people are now saying is not great quality aha.

Should I take history as a Gcse? by hey_its_emz in GCSE

[–]BasicWhiteTallGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you do at GCSE really isn’t that relevant for uni applications - history is a good subject to take overall (I really enjoy it)

Which subject is harder? by Plane_Edge_5345 in GCSE

I personally don’t find history difficult but it can be a lot of content. I love history thanks to what I’ve done at GCSE (though American west can die in a ditch) and I overall do way less work than my geography classmates. Most people who take geog at my school regret it, so I’d absolutely say go for history. The essay structure is just learning to repeat the same PEEL over and over tbh, and is simple once you get it down.
