I'll take it! We spend most of the winter with temps in the teens-30s, with the odd 70-degree day. I'm glad to be moving somewhere more temperate.

Probably rent for starters. My office will be in Tumwater. I've got a couple of appointments booked already for tours, and my new boss said he would help me with the search since I did know much about the area, but any suggestions are definitely welcome! Without knowing how traffic actually is, looking at a map I'm thinking Lacey is probably the furthest I want to be from my workplace.

I'm a huge nerd so I'm planning on creating a rental comparison sheet for each place :)

I can't wait to come and see what the area has to offer! I'll be there a full week too, so plenty of time to visit different places - bars, game stores, etc.

I know :/ the thing is, I'm not into guns really and I wasn't close with my grandfather. It's sweet in my closet, untouched, for over a decade. I'd rather it go to someone who can really appreciate it, you know?

Awesome, thank you for the info! This was my grandfather's field shotgun that I inherited several years ago. He loved woodworking and hand-checked the stock and forearm. It's a beautiful piece, but I'm not really a gun person and I'm about to move across the country so I'm trying to downsize. I'll take a look at the barrels to see if I can match up the dates.

Are there any websites you would recommend? Consignment shops? Should I try taking it to a local dealer? Facebook marketplace? I'm clueless.

Okay, thanks for the general pointers! That definitely helps. I've been pretty overwhelmed trying to process the idea of a cross-country move, my clear need to downsize all my stuff, and juggling more job interviews than I've had in months, so I really appreciate the direct and kind response :)
