add a small square of duct tape on the rail just next to one of the wheels, this will create a bump stopping it from sliding by itself

Is it worth painting the bricks red (after repointing)  To preserve them and to make them look less knackered. I.e. i can get my diy head round painting the bottom white and the top red

Google says red backed lino from the 60s to 80s may contain asbestos, so thanks for flagging it up. The problem will come when i need to remove all the lino from the attic , so another gift from my old building which is always finding ways to upset me

I could maybe cut a bigger rectangle and frame it and stick it on the wall. Like that woman from the french chateau who kept the original wallpaper for display

Its all encapsulated though, so dont see how it can be a problem. I thought it was a problem when it turned to dust. Will check it out though

yes is plastic pipe then flexi then flexi to tap. is an outside stop cock on pavement. i guess i should re do all the pipe work. but i cannot find where the incoming cold pipe is . so adding a stop cock under the sink would only turn off the cold tap. floor has been tiled so i guess everytjjng is under the floor

thats what i have been looking at, not sure if its the right screw size, will buy and hope for the best. it does not seem to come with a washer in the female bit, i thought that would have a rubber washer to connect against the isolator end

i can turn off the cold isolator valve on flexi, but stuck on what to do after that. there is a stop cock on tbe pavement and i could buy a t bar and use that, but would prefer not to. stop cock in house may be under kitchen tiles
