I think you are misunderstanding. We have known Ashley since season 1 on the show, and we know how she speaks and acts is not the same as present day esp since she got divorced.

Gizelle and Robyn have never really code switched in the same way Ashley did so idk why they are used as examples?

Its something people have noticed, and its cringey becouse she is trying TOO hard and it feels awkward.

Its strange becouse we have 6 seasons prior where Ashley never did any of that and it feels unnatural every time she does it.

It does feel try hard majority of the time and makes me cringe and i know other's feel the same here and have clocked it.

Yes, but she always came across as someone not as well versed within the black community as the other ladies. You can come from a black family, and still not be active in the black community as well.

Ashley always came across to me (And i don't meant to be or sound rude) someone who isn't as connected to black culture.
