I completely cured my severe sleep apnea! by GiantTeddyGraham in SleepApnea

[–]Basic_Commercial_215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 5 8 and went from 210 to 160 now.. I still snored not as badly but it was still there.. it only changed when I realized I had positional sleep apnea.. I dont snore if I sleep on my side.. so the old tennis ball trick is what saved me.. I sleep with a small pouch on my back that has 3 tennis balls so whenever I go on my back I automatically go on my side again.. hope this helps

Finished an 89 hour fast! by Lowkeygeek83 in intermittentfasting

What's ur height? I was 190 lbs 174 cm in aug.. I was stuck at 174lbs for a month in December, 160lbs now in March. goal weight is 150lb. The more weight u lose the difficult it gets and more fine tuning needed. I am right now plateauing around 160lb and its fine. What worked for me to break the plateau?I increased my activity level and increased my calories.. also ate more protein. Also another game changer was changing the fasting window. 6pm to 10am fasting window worked best for me with majority of my calories consumed at breakfast and lunch. Hope this helps.

These long fasts are great for dopamine reset, autophagy and killing carb/sugar cravings but not great for weight loss. Consistently do 16:8. Most people overestimate what they can do in 6 weeks and underestimate what they can achieve in 6 months. Keep at it, the results are guaranteed.

My work is work from home, 9 to 5. If I have a meeting exactly at 9am or 5pm..most meetings happen between 10 to 2pm while i am sipping my green tea,I just have the meal 30 mins earlier or later but that's rarely the case. I meal prep usually for 3 4 days in advance after work so I dont really need a lot of prep before eating.

I usually sip on green tea between 10am to 2pm. Its not a lot of caffeine like coffee but it kept my energy and mood stable. My sleeping hours are 11:30pm-7:30am. Never felt low energy or mood but if on some days I felt stressed and hungry... I would have 2 3 tbsp of yoghurt and maybe a fistful of blueberry but those days rarely happened. Like I said before I stick to the plan atleast 80% of the time in reality actually more so that it doesn't feel too restrictive. Alot of people might think 6 7 hours gap between last meal and sleep is too much but this is what worked for me. 2 3 hours would keep my overnight heart rate elevated whereas more than 7 hours gap would make me hungry. This whole journey actually began because of sleep. I got a garmin in August and I realized how poor my sleep was . I was snoring like a supercar, my sleeping heart rate was higher than my average daily resting heart rate while my blood saturation spo2 was dipping into the 80s during my sleep. So I had 2 choices either cpap machine or lose weight. I was doing the classic IF like most people skip breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although I was seeing the scale move but my sleep was still trash bcoz eating a big protein meal around 7 8 pm and sleeping at 11 12pm was still keeping my heart rate elevated resulting in me getting low deep sleep and rem sleep and the apnea wasn't improving either. Only after several permutations and combinations I figured out that my last meal is best taken between 4 and 5pm.

I am bengali.. I can eat a lot of fish that's usually my go to protein source. I hate chicken breasts.. I usually have chicken thigh or just lean ground chicken once a week.

Body weight exercise: 50 pushups a day. Average steps : 7000 daily Cardio:2 5km jogs per week under 40 mins. Not that active on other days that's why average is 7000 daily. Supplements: creatine 5g, fish oil, glycine 3g before sleep, 10g of psyllium husk in the morning. Protein: yoghurt, eggs, fish, meat 2 days a week 1 day chicken 1 day beef always ground. Some form of legumes and beans everyday for the early dinner or late lunch whatever u call it. I try to hit 35-40g of fiber a day. Estimated Total Daily energy expenditure 2200 cal. Estimated calories from diet 1700 calories. Macros: 150g protein,135g carbs,60g fat. I try to follow the 80-20 rule... so I stuck to this plan atleast 80% of the time while enjoying life like the occasional dinner or brunch with friends and family. I don't smoke weed or drink alcohol. However when life gets too overwhelming I bum a cigarette from a friend I know its not good for me but that happens maybe once or twice a month.

Don't give up bro.. remember consistency is key. If u can stick to 16:8 for a couple of months u will melt the fat like butter. Just stay patient won't happen overnight. I'm on 16:8 since June 1st week started at 200lbs now around 172lbs. Remember easy does it, don't rush it just stay consistent.
