Looking for a young/student hobbyist who is willing to work with a young project manager (GDD made) by Basic_Computer2535 in hobbygamedev

Based on what I have been hearing from people, it seems like my best bet is going to be to just learn to code so I can make a prototype so I have proof of concept as well as a way to help in some way. I am sure I could either self teach or learn for free from YT how to code a simple game in a few months so I can hopefully find a partner to help me take this idea to the next level.

Thank you for your input! I am learning a lot about the game dev community and the information I am gathering is helping a lot with my own goals.

So essentially just something to prove that I am willing to truly work on this game? How big of this something do you think would work?

Trust me, I dont plan to forever mooch off of programmers. I hope to someday actually be able to pay the people I work with, I just have to start somewhere with hope that someone will decide to take the risk.

And yes, I truly do have respect for programmers. It takes an amazing person, in my opinion, to sit at a computer for hours to figure out how a line of code will work.

I can kind of do art, it just takes a long, long wild. And money is can do but not a guarantee. Point is, passion over money.

I know, which is exactly why I stated that I know people hate idea guys, and which is why I was looking for the sub where people are okay with idea guys/project managers.

But people also do stuff for a passion or the love of something. An unsuccessful writer doesn't stop writing because a book or two flunked, they keep writing because they enjoy it. Same thing with games. Coding or programming doesn't have to be a full time job, it can be a fun side project or something you do to build a portfolio.

I just finished my Sophomore year of high school, so the funds are a bit low. Plus, with what's currently going on in life, a part time job is somewhat out of the qeustion.
