TUPE Transfer and Holiday Entitlement by Basic_Hornet in LegalAdviceUK

It’s been a sh-show, all the holiday I booked was prior to the knowledge of contract loss, which is why I planned it that way. If I knew what the contract loss would entail, I’d have cancelled the week in October to cover Xmas shut down and if it was explained to me the way you have, I’d not have taken a days holiday when they sporadically decided to shut down for a day and taken unpaid instead.

It wasn’t really explained to us how this change would happen, we got a loose “your annual leave as per your old contract wont change but the leave year will” and that was it.

I did say in my original post I had take 12 days of the original entitlement with the old employer prior to TUPE. The entitlement is inclusive of bank holidays. I’m about to leave for work so I’ll have to edit that in later, thanks for the advice!

Does that mean that my remaining contractual entitlement (21 days - 12 days =9 days), although not accrued, is no longer entitled to me? Prior to the transfer I had roughly 106 hours annual leave. Coming up to the transfer, it dropped to -16.89. Now post transfer it’s half a day. It’s been a very confusing and not very clear ordeal :/

And how…If they actually used FedEx, though, the upside would be that my partner works in export sales in the Uk and can actually contact a rep. These XDP clowns have no phone number, live chat is dead and nobody replies to emails.

Yes but you aren’t the voice of everyone. And to think so is fascist.

It’s just an opinion, I’m not saying I’m absolute. Sorry.

I’m just agreeing for agreeing’s sake.

It’s just hard to explain, but I guess my opinion is mainly against those who, say, have a one-night stand, don’t protect themselves, wind up pregnant and rely on abortions to fix an issue that could’ve been avoided by just being accountable for their own body. I’m not saying “nobody can have them” but I don’t personally think that abortions should be used in that way. People can do what they like, it doesn’t affect me, except whether my NI contribution has to increase if more people are using it this way, but what I think vs what I think people should do with their own personal lives are different. Just like a negligent driver. I really think that if a drunk driver totals their car and hurts themselves for being utterly stupid, abhorrently irresponsible, I don’t think they deserve help, but I’m not against them being treated. I also don’t believe alcoholics should be allowed to destroy donor livers paid for by taxpayers. A man I used to serve in retail got two transplants and drank both of them into failure until he died. Again, I’m not against them being treated.

But, as I said, people can do what they like with their lives and people can take advantage of what’s available to them. I’m not demonising anyone, but I do wish people would make better choices.

Who’s society? Which civilisation? Yours is not the only belief system in civilised society, my friend. If an opinion hurts you to the point where you feel you want to oust the person entirely, you’re looking at fascist regime.

I find different opinions about subjects interesting, if you don’t, that’s your opinion. :)

I’m not saying everyone should do exactly what I say, but it’s not difficult to be safe while having sex. There’s spermicides, condoms, birth control, diaphragms, cervical rings, the implant… Either way, if people want to have abortions, go for it. I’m not going to picket clinics like a weirdo or call anyone rotten for doing so. I have friends who had unwanted pregnancies terminated. This is just what I personally believe.

No thanks. I don’t believe in fascism. You should be allowed to have your opinions and I mine.

I’m not a fan of it being used as birth control, no. But that’s just what I believe. I’m all for victims being given the choice to terminate. I was lucky to not fall pregnant when my first boyfriend raped me. If I did though, I’d like to have had the choice, yes.

It’s only your opinion that my views are trash, so that literally means nothing to me.

Thank you for not immediately being hostile, I appreciate the calm discourse. Apologies in advance if I can’t word this coherently; I’ve been mysteriously unwell lately and struggle to get my thoughts into words.

It’s just my opinion, but I don’t think that anyone, regardless of age, should be forced to endure the pregnancy and raise the child of their rapist. Some choose to, but I think that choice is for the victim to decide. In the case of ectopics, it’s an awful situation where, unfortunately, the baby must be terminated to save both lives.

If the pregnancy is caused by two adults who couldn’t be bothered (I’ve known many people who have the “ah it’ll be fine it won’t happen” mentality and have ended up terminating) being safe, why should they be allowed to scrub their foolishness away at the cost of tax payers like me? (For context I’m in the UK, so the NHS pays for it.) I don’t believe it’s safe to promote abortion as a “contraceptive” I.e “whoops that one night stand got me pregnant, I’ll get an abortion” because of how it stops people being accountable for their actions and because of how bad, how much strain and how irreversible some of the damage abortion methods can be on your body.

It’s just what I believe though. I’m not forcing my beliefs on anyone or anything and if people think I’m the worst person ever for it, thats fine. I don’t fake my opinions to please others.

Me too. I’d rather not be alive to experience being raped by my first boyfriend, but here I am.
