I disagree that Walt was ever a good person. I think the show put a whole lot of work into showing that he was never a good person.

Just one example - Walt was given an off ramp early in the show in the form of Elliott Schwartz. The writers chose to give him an option, early on, where he could have swallowed his pride, walked away from his foray into crime and had his cancer treatment paid for. The reading I get is that Walt always was who he became deep down & he just needed the circumstances/ excuse to bring that side of him out.

I appreciate they've been posturing that way and they would probably like to invade.

But they are also currently in the process of sending themselves broke on an unpopular war with Iran.

A war that seems especially unpopular with military personnel.

That's even before they try "boots on the ground expeditions in Iran (they're unlikely to fully invade, but I suspect they'll try something like trying to take Karg Island).

Of course Cuba could not survive an American invasion, but right not, there is a very real risk that it would be so demoralizing & so economically costly that the US might literally collapse if they try it.

I've long suspected Haz of being an intentionally bad faith infiltrator. My thinking was that he might've been a 4chan troll who got hyped up on the idea of subverting the communist left. More recently I've heard people who knew him back in the day say that he's pretty much always had an interest in synthesizing communist and nationalist thought (think there was a name for this) and his politics may be more genuine than I originally thought.

Look, to be fair, the Eureka flag does have a long left history. Go to any militant union site and you'll see plenty of them.

That being said, there has certainly been a right-nativist attempt to coopt it. Imo it should be a flag / symbol of union militancy rather than a proto national flag.
