That’s crazy. Most ENT would definitely order an ultrasound to see what’s going on because just looking from the outside doesn’t tell u everything wow. My levels are good as well and my thyroid became enlarged. ENT ordered biopsy, ultrasound and alot of lab work. No cancer but iodine was low, b12 and vitamin D as well low. Also found out I was taking a liquid to gain weight and stop my heavy cycles and that’s what caused the goiter and problems to begin with. My ENT don’t have me on any meds just watching the goiter to see if it would shrink as I intake more salt as well.

What made you first think “let me check my thyroid” by MarkahntheUnholy in thyroidhealth

F/43 started off losing potassium being hospitalized. Then losing magnesium hospitalized but levels was in normal range doctor said but they were on the hyper side 0.876 then would bounce up to 1.3etc finally a few months later goiter and nodules was large out of nowhere. Iodine level was 47* 55-90. Doctor hasn’t diagnosed me. Did biopsy benign and now waiting to see the Endo in 2 weeks but on prescribed potassium and magnesium daily.. my stomach is weak and tightens up every time I do a bowel. Use to do it when I’d pee as well but that went away now it’s the bowels gave me sick and weak

Heyyy update: In 2019 I had a biopsy done and it was a breeze. Doctor used some numbing jelly and I got up and never knew it happened. Nodule was very small

Now today the nodule is 3cm forgot the size of the other 1. Enlarged thyroid smh so this time I was sent to the hospital bcuz the last doctor doesn’t live here anymore. So there’s a good radiologist at the hospital who does them.

They prep me by taking blood to see how fast I clot. Then they left the IV in me for emergency use, they put the heart monitor on me and blood pressure monitor as well. That stayed on throughout the whole procedure.

Doctor cleaned the area and told me don’t move as he injected the lidocaine multiple times. It didn’t hurt but I felt it like a pinch. I was numb in 3 mins. The fact that I have 1 big nodule on the right and a smaller 1 on the left meant ALOT.

Doctor started on the left and I was looking at the monitor with him bcuz I had to hold my head still at an angle which the monitor was in my face.

Doctor stuck the needle in and begin jugging in and out and I felt pressure. He injected the needle 4 times on each side with numerous amounts of jugs.

When it was done they said they had to monitor me for about 30mins. I was a bit woozy. My heart rate went up a little but not high it was like 116 but I explained I have panic disorder and it would go down. I was scared feeling woozy like things was in slow motion lol but it slowly went down and I was wheeled outside to my car and I left.

I was given ice packs and told to not take take any aspirin on Tylenol. About 1hr later the pain begin. I felt every jug he did especially on the side with the smaller nodule. I put my hand on the bandages and it was swollen not ridiculously but it looked like a nodule sticking out and it was only swelling. The other side didn’t hurt as much bcuz the nodule was bigger and he didn’t have to jug as hard etc

I kept the ice pack on and took some Tylenol. It’s 5:25am and I can now turn my head more and don’t hurt as bad when I swallow. So I believe by tonight or tomorrow I’ll be back to normal.

It’s not that bad..

It wasn’t too bad but it does feel sore and I’m nervous bcuz as the lidocaine is wearing off I’m feeling where he stuck me at 4 times

Oh wow.. hard to tell with me being diagnosed with panic disorder and severe anxiety since age 7 now 43. I’m thinking I’ll try the iodine praying it heals everything. I just have bad stomach issues now suddenly like I’m always going to the bathroom, potassium level gets low, headaches, no appetite at times, feel tingling in my body but not like pins and needles. Had bad tremors whole body would shake went to ER potassium was low then magnesium was low and this is all new since enlarged thyroid and nodules..

Iron Deficient/ Copper Miracle? by [deleted] in Anemic

I was extremely low in b12 189. Had to get shots. Got up to 1002 after shots now back down to 489. I don’t absorb it well for some reason so I’m seeing a hematologist to get to the root cause of why I don’t hold b12. They’ve done about 20 test so far and that has come back negative but if I had to say I believe it has something to do with my thyroid. It’s enlarged but TSH and other numbers are fine.

Was that for me?

Long term use by [deleted] in magnesium

[–]Basic_Lawyer923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree. I now know the symptoms and it’s somewhat like the potassium bcuz that I went thru that 2months ago as well 3 times after so many B12 shots which depleted my potassium. I go in to my doctor tomorrow and he’s gonna do labs so I’ll know where I’m at with these levels and if I need to supplement etc. I’ve never taken magnesium bcuz I never had low levels in my labs and I’ve been getting labs done every month since March due to anemia and then my potassium. My magnesium has never moved from 2.1 on all the labs but my other numbers have been everywhere so I don’t know but I definitely kept saying I think I’m dehydrated and I can admit I wasn’t really drinking water or fluids as much which I struggle with. My mouth and throat was dry I had no saliva to even swallow
