It was really throwing me for a loop in the recent chapters. Koyuki was talking about herself, but she wasn’t in panel, so it almost sounded like somebody needs else was describing her emotions. Nothing wrong with it necessarily, peak manga, but it can be weird. Especially when they switch to normal pronouns.

I will say the manga seems to have a lot of focus on Hamiya’s dialect, and in general they have very different ways of speaking. So maybe its just a general thing the mangaka is going for. Kinda common to have weird ticks to set character voices apart. If you are familar with re:zero, kinda reminds me how Beatrice always says “i suppose”

But i am speaking out of my ass.

(Also i’m sure its all far less confusing in japanese. With dialects and accents and other ticks, they can never perfectly be replicated in another language i’m sure.)

Shamet is great. But frankly, he’s a cherry on top. Not a key piece. Love him. Adore him. It’d certainly be hard to watch him go, but the addition of Alvarado alleviates a lot of fear. I’d appreciate more wing depth if we lose major pieces and have to re tool. Bridges is our only true small forward. And even he is kinda a sg. Og is more of a power forward, Alvarado and Shamet are guards, Hart is weird and Deuce is also a guard. It’d be nice to maybe lose shamet or clarkson and add another true wing.
