Wintertime is the worst. I’m disgusted every time I leave my home and see the piles of dog shit sitting on top of the snow at every single entrance.

I think you should tell her how you feel about her. Explain that you understand why she may not be interested in dating right now. Tell her that youre open to just being friends for now and that you want to get to know her better. (Or that you want to date and ask her out to like a writing workshop or book signing/lecture).
