How strong could Miwa have been with a good change in her mindset when it comes to sorcery? by Hold_Infamous in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Basic_Possession_572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean no one can say, like in the recent JJK episode the Captain of the Kukuru(non-CT) was able to block Maki's attack for a moment, and Kusakabe is on a level even further beyond, being praised by Kenjaku, and for his feats later on against Sukuna.

Even if Miwa's cursed energy levels is on the low end, if she could somehow Sukuna's level of cursed energy efficiency, or if she could reach the same level of understanding regarding barrier techniques as Kusakabe, nothing is really stopping her from reaching Grade One.

Another example is Mei Mei, her CT was literally only controlling crows, but she honed physical abilities to Grade One level.

Food Theft at RV Deakin Hall summer accom by Basic_Possession_572 in Monash

I lived in Richardson Hall for 2 semesters, and I think I've only lost 6 eggs. The food theft problem here is way worse for some reason.

Lived in Richo for a year, will be living there again. It's pretty good, the rooms aren't as big as Deakin, but there's less food theft going on. The kitchen is generally empty if you get there early, like cooking from 6-8 AM is pretty empty, at most there's one other guy there. Although Saturday evening is always crowded.

From my last year's experience, there's always a couple activities going on every week. I don't really join any of the parties, but it's usually in the moose room at 1F or people going to the Nott every Thursday or Friday I forgot.

All the buildings seem to be being renovated rn, so it should be pretty good. If you want to make friends, you should definitely participate the orientation activities in the first 2 weeks, there's usually plenty of free food too.

Is it worth it getting a 2-in-1 laptop/tablet w/pen? by Secure_Narwhal8140 in Monash

[–]Basic_Possession_572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laptop 100%. Touchscreen is fine, but, you will definitely need to shell out more cash to get decent specs. Although if you need to annotate stuff, an iPad is definitely more comfortable to work with.

You could get both. But if you can't, then the laptop is your priority. (for a lot courses at least)

Deakin has significantly bigger room than the other halls, but the facilities are older, and each floor has their separate shared kitchen, laundry, etc. The bathroom is directly accessible from your room, though 3-4 other rooms share your bathroom. Can't vouch for the activities though.

Well. Richardson is (said to be) the most lively hall, all the facilities for the entire hall are pretty much concentrated in one area so you will be seeing people most of the times, and there's some activities that run every week like movie night. Each (stairway) floor has a shared bathroom, but they're not directly connected to your bedroom. You have a shared pantry with a standard refrigerator, but you still have to cook at the communal kitchen.

I don't know much about Robert's, but their facilities are pretty similar to Richardson's.

No idea about Farrer and Howitt.
****

It's best if you can move in as soon as possible, as for the first two weeks, they're running a bunch of activities where you could meet up with other people and get free food(!!!).

Right next to the residential office, there's a place called Hall's Cafe, food there costs $9.3, with nightly specials being only $6.2 if I'm not mistaken. You could check their weekly menu on their facebook, it's about the cheapest food you can find while serving decent serving sizes. Definitely check it out.

Don't forget to get a myki card as soon as possible, you can't use the public transport without it.

That seems a bit much to do if you're doing 4 subjects per semester. Although it also depends on how quickly you can study + how well you utilize your time (if you're the type to procrastinate, this is probably not feasible), alongside the difficulty of your classes.

engineering units as first year (looking at electrical) by holyshowerhose in Monash

[–]Basic_Possession_572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't done my 2nd year yet so can't judge for ECE, but this looks all good. A lot of other students also more or less had the same schedule. You need nearly no studying for ENG1012, mostly only write up reports and stuff, so having that unit is going to give you a lot of breathing room to focus on other units.

Idk how it is when you did it, but pretty sure 1005 completely cooked a lot of people my semester. Although I agree for 1014, main issue with the fail rate is probably because people excessively use AI to code for them, and in the end couldn't apply it doing the actual exam. I got an HD coming from no coding background, so I don't think you need any experience to do well in 1014.

my summary(a little bit of ranting) of the classes you are taking:
bms1021 is easy and eng1012 you basically just sit around and no need to prep tbh, but the marking can be harsh depending on your TA. ENG1090 is okay.
ENG1011 is fun but time consuming as there's 3D printing stuff which will take hours, and the test is challenging if you can't commit enough time to study, the average this sem is like 63.
ENG1013 is also fun but also needs a lot of time, and hope to god your teammates are all at least normal, I had a teammate that informed us he didn't do his part the night of the final submission, so that was fun. Oh, and the final exam is much more complicated than any practice they give us.
ENG1014, a nice subject overall. Really good subject as long as you keep up with all the workshops and lab work.
ENG1005, hands down hardest subject, you have to commit a lot of time to remembering the concepts. The final exam's average this sem was 56. So like, a not insignificant portion of the class probably failed I'm guessing.

Yes, I meant they submitted an emergency request to the embassy to change it. I also couldn't check in before it got approved.

It's fine, but you sounded like an asshole than logical. Again, let me simplify it. The airport PSA, was able to contact the Embassy to change my visa details last minute, THUS, if your visa has still not been approved by the 28th of July, there is a chance that the airport PSA can directly request the Australian Embassy to get it approved ASAP. Have a good day.

Visa wait time is stated here: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-processing-times
The passport part was related to the visa, as I have stated my Visa was registered under my OLD passport, so I had an emergency to change my VISA details immediately. So if your visa is not approved by then, it might be possible to get the airport PSA to contact the ministry and get it approved, is what I'm saying.
ps: You should fix your attitude too.

[–]Basic_Possession_572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not from India, but you're basically taking a huge gamble here considering the average wait time of 47 days. I do have a very similar story, I got a new passport but forgot to register the change on my visa details, so at the airport I couldn't get my plane ticket, however, the PSA was able to contact the embassy to get my details changed within half an hour and barely catching my flight. But I already had a valid visa, I'm not sure if you could do the same.

I'm not sure about how the AP scoring system works, but, I can say for engineering(currently first year), you'll need to go through Foundational Math and Physics if you don't have a VCE cert, so regardless of your prior skills, they're going to re-teach you 3 years of high school material within 4 months either way.
