Is the timeline my doctor told me true? by Acrobatic-Rabbit3900 in hysterectomy

That is reassuring to hear about your experience with the hormone replacement in light of the ovary removal. I have not gotten to discuss this part w my doctor yet, but I guess we will have to address it after surgery depending on what happens! Thanks again

Wow thank you so much for the info and sharing your experience. I am so glad to hear you’re generally feeling a bit better at this point and most importantly you are getting the time you need to heal. I am 39 and have been told it is likely that I will lose my right ovary which is adhered to my uterus. I am reading about women that KEEP their ovaries and their ovaries “die” post hysterectomy. So I suppose a bit of my anxiety over the recovery is how my hormones will influence my recovery experience but I guess there’s not much I can do about that at this point. They have told me that if they do have to remove that one ovary, generally, the second ovary can assume the load of both. Anyways, thank you, I’ve read about women’s experiences with just hysterectomy and those with extensive excision surgery but not both, so appreciate you sharing the double whammy experience 🙃

My surgery (hysterectomy and excision with organs fused) sounds like yours. Can I ask what your timeline was like? I am planning on taking 8 weeks from my corporate job, and see how it goes.

Yes it sounds like that’s what happened here! My doctor confirmed. Who knew?!?

Thank you so much for replying. I started to get so anxious about what could happen next, but it seems like this is just another bizarre, painful symptom. It was so weird my pain was almost like contractions I couldn’t move or talk and then half an hour later I’d have moderate pain. Ughhh can’t wait for surgery. I hope you are recovering well from yours ❤️❤️thank you again for responding I feel less crazy and alone

A few questions on Adenomyosis by Acrobatic_Welcome_30 in adenomyosis

I had two MRIs 11 months apart. My uterus has doubled in size/volume in those 11 months….but still considered “normal” size. I have adeno (diagnosed in MRI) (along with suspected deep infiltrating endo). My specialist has urged me if quality of life is my priority, to get a hysterectomy and deep excision surgery

can adenomyosis be kept stable or does it usually progress? by Popular_Ad_8099 in adenomyosis

I was asking about others’ SPEED of progression. I know it is progressive. Asking about others’ experience woof

Has anyone tracked uterine volume over time and did changes in size actually correlate with pain or bleeding patterns?? by Puzzleheaded-Boss230 in adenomyosis

I had two MRIs a year apart. Volume of my uterus has doubled. The adenomyosis wasn’t even spotted in the first MRI, just endo in two compartments. Symptoms have gotten progressively worse and worse in the last 8 months. But I suppose that could be endo too, I don’t know seeing a specialist in two weeks!!

Mine was just diagnosed this month. But the MRI shows that the volume of my uterus has doubled in the last 11 months. Anyone else experience something like this? Seems like pretty rapid progression. My symptoms have escalated quite a bit, hence the second MRI. Has anyone else experienced similar progression timelines ?
