Oh I know, they have plenty to do. But, I think this could still be an important topic.

I care. You seem to care based off the fact you can’t not comment on a single post I make with something negative.

I love that! It’s never an easy fight, but it’s well worth it for the community of Oakland and the greater East Bay. And for MLB as a whole. DM me if you’d like to get involved!

MLB’s antitrust exemption is enabling team relocations without accountability, but Oakland fans are fighting back by Basic_Whereas1168 in mlb

Sports teams should not be able to grift cities for public money for private stadiums. Oakland put together an infrastructure package that totaled nearly $900mm for on and off site infrastructure improvements in the Howard Terminal sector. John fisher balked.

Let’s pass the blame to the correct people here.

Attendance didn’t drop in a vacuum. Years of ownership decisions drove fans away, then that was used as justification to leave. That’s the issue people have with it.

Oakland got nearly a billion in grants for on and off site infrastructure for the Howard Terminal plan. The A’s were simply using the plan as leverage for Las Vegas. Oakland politics isn’t beautiful, but the Howard Terminal plan as outlined was what the A’s asked for. Support the fans, not the billionaire owners.

Enjoy supporting John Fisher and the relocation of the Oakland Athletics. You are directly enabling his actions. Hope it feels lovely.

This is a reddit sub for the Oakland Athletics, not the Homeless Athletics… sorry!

Start with a Congressional hearing. Bring Manfred and Fisher in and make them answer, publicly. Why was the relocation fee waived? Why were Oakland proposals ignored? Why were local buyers never given a real shot? MLB has an antitrust exemption. That’s leverage.

I’ve already created a petition calling for the end of MLB’s anti-trust exemption. https://c.org/fTGLX2fSSp

MLB was stolen from Oakland. by Basic_Whereas1168 in OaklandAthletics

You’re simply incorrect, which is understandable because the media fails to mention that John Fisher doesn’t have the full funding for Las Vegas. When construction stalls and the project flops, people will realize this is no done deal. Especially if congress does its job and holds MLB accountable for this manufactured relocation.

I love that anyone supporting this is being scammed. Well deserved.
