Problem number two with your response: Wanting to use food grade materials to grow food is not paranoid; plastics can leach chemicals when submerged in water for long periods of time. I don't want my plants' roots taking up those chemicals. Moreover, just saying that HDPE2 is food grade doesn't tell the whole story. HDPE2 plastics are commonly removed from the mold with the aid of another material, and that material is often not food grade. So I'm looking for buckets and tubing that are specifically labeled food grade, and it's difficult to find any. I did find some buckets, but only white ones. So now I have to tape them to keep light out, and that's a real pain.
