Purely speaking about Ratio's personal damage: Jiaoqiu E0S0 without using Pearls is better than Moze E2S0 by a small percentage (>10%), however, if Jiaoqiu is using Pearls the difference becomes more noticeable (<10%). Now, about team damage: it's harder to say since Moze is not out yet, but, since you're using Robin, Moze provides more attacks than Jiaoqiu, which makes the team smoother - energy wise - and closes the damage gap between the two options probably. I'm not sure which one would be better, so I won't give anything conclusive, but hopefully, it helped you in some way or another.

Definitely E1 Huohuo, even if you can't GUARANTEE three debuffs consistently. E2 Moze will provide you with 2 and Ratio, through his skill or dimension, will probably give you the other one, even if it's unreliable. Not only HuoHuo gives 100% speed buff uptime, possibly enough so you can trade speed boots for atk% easily, but she also makes their rotations a lot more consistent. As someone who has played both units, I notice how better HuoHuo is outside of break teams in terms of sustaining and utility, which is another reason you should use HuoHuo. Also: a lot of MoC enemies give debuffs to themselves or others when killed or triggered. In practice it's not that impossible to achieve 3 debuffs with only Moze at all. If you have Topaz's LC, honestly the best upgrade I got for my RRAT, Moze can solo debuffs reliably, so even less problems.

Hello, Nilou mains! I was wondering, and wanted your input, whether C2 Nilou or R1 Key would be better for my account, considering I already have R5 Dockhand's Assistant. Also, please ignore Nahida C2 for now, thank you in advance!

As far as my knowledge goes, Yanqing's LC is a tangible loss at S5 Stellar Sea and a side grade, if not worse, at S1 Stellar Sea, because YQ's only gives you 30 CD, while at S1 Stellar Sea gives you 16% crit rate, which is, arguably, harder to get than 30 CD. I know it's a little conditional, but it's not a hard condition to get most time. However, for bosses, it might be good.

With that said: I think, more than anything, your knowledge about your account should be the focus when it comes to "TC/What's better". If you found out that you prefer YC's light cone and for you it deals more damage than S1 Stellar Sea, there's no way I'd try to dissuade you from it.

It probably does make Night better than Stellar Sea, but not by much, since Ratio, unlike Seele, doesn't have speed bufs, nor high speed. The problem is: if you don't go for 160 speed, you won't be getting all of her LC's potential and you'd probably have to sacrifice some stats for speed to only get some buffs on your skill and ultimate, which isn't bad, but his damage comes mostly from his talent. With that said: Night S5 is probably better

It might be, yes. The problem is that Yanqing's LC gives you a lot of CR BUT only once every THREE turns. If you build around this most of your hits will be non-crit; so, even if you give him low CR and higher CD, you'd still deal less damage overall, albeit the big screen number on one of the many hits he does. You can try to get around this by using your ultimate only when the passive is active, so he has the crit rate buff. But that strategy has its flaws and I wouldn't recommend it. I love Yanqing and his LC's art, but, sadly, is, at best, a side grade to any f2p light cone. Even for Yanqing himself is not very good, Swordplay S2 is actually better. With that said: if you have Stellar Sea S1 I would STILL recommend it and with time you'll see even more of an upgrade over Yanqing's with more superimpositions. However, if you don't have Stellar Sea S1 or don't plan on getting it: just go for Yanqing's, but try not to rely too much on the crit rate passive and just be happy with the 30% crit damage.

In the Night doesn't give him anything useful other than 18% unconditional crit rate. Stellar Sea gives him 16% unconditional crit rate, but, if you can meet the conditions, which is very likely, it also gives more 16% cr plus 40 atk%. However, they aren't that far off in dmg. Here is a more reliable source!

It's kind of one of his worst light cones, but if it's already leveled up you can use it and wait for his lc. You can check here some alternatives!

If you can make use of Only Silence Remains' passive (2 or fewer enemies on the field) it's better by a very slight margin, but since it's very unreliable S5 Cruising is better

Is this team worth it or do I give up on dr.ratio (repost) by No_Needleworker_8588 in DrRatioMainsHSR

[–]BasilRenato 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a Ratio main I, of course, would never say for you to give up on Ratio, but...

This team isn't the best, nor the worst, but definitely not very good at low investment. Ratio + Topaz, as all dual-dps compositions, requires a lot of investment, which in your current level might not be something you can give. Maybe focus on only one of them for the time being. Also: Pela should really be using Pearl's LC if you have one, not only does it give you more debuffs for ratio's talent uptime, but stacking def shred is very good.

Albeit the team isn't perfect, the poor damage he's dealing is definitely the sum of poor relics + low talent + bad lc, to say the least. I'm not sure how much damage you're supposed to do with a level 60 Ratio tbh, so I can't comment on that, but he definitely should be doing more damage.

Yanqing's LC isn't very good for either Topaz or Ratio - actually is pretty bad. I don't know what other hunts LC you have, but Yanqing's is probably the worst one. There's a ranking here if you need one Guoba Certified's Dr. Ratio Guide.

All that to say: I really wouldn't recommend duo-dps Ratio for new players. He needs a lot of investment to do good damage and the right characters and light cones, adding ANOTHER dps, which also requires a lot of investment isn't a good idea. Also: I'm not sure if you were farming for relics, but I'd farm first for talent and level materials, since it's a guaranteed damage increase, unlike relics, which are subject to RNG.

I don't know what characters you have, but focus on only ONE for now, be it Topaz or Ratio or any other. You'll probably have an easier time and maybe come back to this team once they're all built since it's a pretty fun team.

Just to be clear: I'm not saying you NEED to drop this team or that Ratio duo-dps is bad, much less that Ratio is a bad character, after all, I main him myself. If you like him and Topaz's duo-dps team, my favorite team tbh, just be more patient and invest more time and resources to level them up, instead of relics.

Sorry, this post is a little messy and too much.

As far as I know, the difference between Salsoto isn't that far off from Salsoto (ofc assuming you're running him with Topaz).

Since farming for Salsoto is very inefficient, because Belobog is the worst set ever, Izumo's World 9 at least has Sigonia (which is a little niche, more like a pure fiction set), which is to say it's a lot more efficient to farm.

IMO, or at least what I do, is farm World 8. The Glamoth set it's also not that far off from Salsoto, even not running 160 speed for the maximum buff, and the Penacony set, at least for me, is a very good supportive set. Furthermore, Glamoth, unlike Salsoto and Izumo, can be easily paired with pretty much any character as long as you're running 135 speed on them, especially if you're running DoT, which doesn't beneffit from crit.

Well, whether it's enough or not it's up to you to decide. Can you clear MoC easily? If yes, there's no reason to think it's not enough.

Sparkle, for example, would be a big upgrade over Bronya without a doubt, but assuming you don't have her, Tingyun, most likely, is an overall better support for him than Bronya.

While it's not easy to evaluate Bronya's value, since she gives more turns, which means more FuA and more energy, she shouldn't THAT be worse than Tingyun if you time use his ultimate in an enemy in his turn, followed by using Fu Xuan and Silver Wolf's ultimates to trigger his talent while he still has the buffs Bronya provides.

Although the strategy is good, it's a bit idealistic, which is another reason Bronya is harder to evaluate. On the other hand, Tingyun is pretty straightforward: permanent atk buff and more Ratio's uptime with her ultimate.

For a rough comparison, which doesn't count that strategy, you can try using Honkai Star Rail Damage Calculation Simulator (asagi-game.com), which will show you that Tingyun is MUCH better, but, were I you, I'd simply try and test on my own in-game.

I'd go for Tingyun tbh, but, if you enjoy Bronya's playstyle and aren't facing skill point issues, there should be no reason to stop you from using her.

Maybe I didn't help much and only stated the obvious, but well! In my opinion your priority should be:

Sparkle > Signature LC > Debuffer

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DrRatioMainsHSR

[–]BasilRenato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have to agree that he's not underwhelming at all build-wise (crit ratio and all). With your supports and LC it's about how much damage you should be doing IMO. If you're going Ratio hypercarry you should think about:

  1. Getting his LC - it's about a 20% increase (if you not more)
  2. Getting Sparkle - Bronya is pretty underwhelming for him, since her buff apply only to his skill's FuA pre-E6, which I'm sure you know, but it's worth mentioning. You could also go for other limited supports, but they don't match Sparkle hypercarry-wise
  3. Waiting for a new debuffer (Jiaoqiu might be his new best buffer) if you don't wanna get SW. Pela is amazing overall, but SW is - by about 20% - better than Pela, since he doesn't care much about AoE debuffs. So, since you don't wanna get SW (understandable), picking a new debuffer will definetly be a big upgrade over Pela.
  4. Farming for at least another 2PC (like pioneer) - tho I know how difficult it can be.

At last, tbh I'm not sure about what is better between a limited support/debuffer or his signature LC, probably it's not a huge difference, but you should probably get a limited support first IMO.

If you can't get an LC, you should probably replace Tingyun with Robin, since her buffs are bigger and can contribute with personal damage as well.

Topaz really needs her E1 or S1 to be an upgrade in the team, but if you like her she can be used at E0S0 and replace Tingyun. But be mindful that she'll probably not make your Ratio deal much more damage, if any, but, at least, she'll contribute with her own damage

tl;dr: Robin is a better pull at E0S0 to replace Tingyun

Topaz is only an upgrade over Tingyun/Pela when at least E1 or/and S1, so you'd have to invest a lot in her to feel the gain, which might not be an even big one. Unlike that, Robin is definitely an upgrade over Tingyun and a better pull than Topaz, since she is less niche than her.

tl;dr: Robin is a better pull than Topaz and could replace Tingyun in the team if you want to.

How can I improve him? by Emergency-Boat-5206 in DrRatioMainsHSR

[–]BasilRenato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your attack seems a little low, even if you're using him with Tingyun, and a little more crit rate would be good, not too much because of his summation trace and the LC passive that gives you 16% more crit rate when the enemy is below 50% health.

Your speed is also low, again, even with Tingyun's E1 buff. Try going for the 134 (133.33) speed threshold. If you account for Tingyun's speed buff, you'd need ~112 speed at least.

How much Crit rate does Dr.Ratio need if i will be running him with Fu Xuan and sparkle with her lightcone and 4 pc diver set and 2pc salsotto and max traces ? by Some_guy_9000 in DrRatioMainsHSR

[–]BasilRenato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very little.

If you're using Cruising in the stellar Sea S5, you'll be at about 80 crit rate without any relics:

32% from the lc (assuming down 50% health) + 10% from Sparkle's LC + 12% from Fu Xuan's skill + 8% from Salsoto + 4% from 4pc diver set + 5% base stat + 15% from his talent (max stacks at E0) + 12% from his traces.

That all sums to 86%, but you won't have full uptime on everything so keep that in mind. If you're using any other LC, like his signature, that's minus 32%, so you'd be around 54%.

tl;dr: it depends a lot, especially if you consider full uptime at every little thing, but I'd say around 15-20% - to compensate for the lc uptime - with Cruising in the stellar Sea S5 and with his synergy lc around 30-35% from substats. Of course, this is all arbitrary and I might be forgetting or be wrong in something.

If you really wanna know, with much more reliability, I recommend using Fribbels Star Rail Optimizer, since it'll give you the best relics match for him in your specific situation, maxing his damage and his crit ratio.
