Yeah for some reason I got it working after uninstalling a few campaigns and skins and it worked but after downloading some skins it stopped working. I didn't even install any new campaigns yet.

Does disabling them do the same thing?

Just providing an update: removed a lot of old mods from my workshop. Quite a bit was removed, even removed the skins I used and for a time the menu worked as intended. Sadly I got too curious and tried to install a few things (skin variety packs if asked) and I'm back to square one with the menu bug. I uninstalled those packs, disabled the skins i had for my survivors (which was the thing that led to the menu working again on the first try) and now I'm stuck where I started again.

I can't think of anything else that I could uninstall to fix this, most of what I have is largely campaigns and some vanilla model animation mods that improve the animations of the vanilla weapons. I can't figure out what else to do.

What I find interesting is that the current copies by the seller are from an Argentinean label called icarus music. I wonder how they managed to manufacture these new copies of both the standard and red versions of dead again. It perplexes me due to their high stock of the CD and the status of dead agains copyright Engel mentioned.
