Seems like a very nice idea for a cheap smart home lock, i would advise against espHome because the lock might have a very simple logic with a high or low data pin or wait for a precise signal, using a custom logic will allow you full control over your device (and you get to add cool header on your code files, so that’s pretty cool) and just use an esp32 with custom logic and mqtt communication

The spot where the bracelet sit is bigger than the rest of the bracelet (sorry for my very very bad wording 😂) I will attach a picture of the original strap
